The Child and Youth Administration is responsible for Halmstad's municipal preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, after-school care, and cultural schools. Every day, about 16,000 children attend one of our facilities.

Getingeskolan is located in the northern part of Halmstad with nature as its closest neighbor. There are good communications to Getinge from both Halmstad and Falkenberg.

Getingeskolan is a K-9 school with a large catchment area. Students come to Getinge from Haverdals by school, Kvibilleskolan, Lyngåkraskolan, Plönningeskolan, and Steningeskolan. Getingeskolan 7-9 has undergone renovations in recent years, and we have, for some time now, settled into our newly renovated school.

Getingeskolan is growing, and the number of students is constantly increasing. Currently, we have 340 students in grades 7-9, and this number is expected to rise each year according to projections. In addition to grades 7-9, we also have grades K-6 and two after-school departments at our school.

We are therefore a large K-9 school, and our driving force is to always do what is best for the students. Getingeskolan, where knowledge, community, and faith in the future meet, is our vision, and we grow together.

The health and learning of the students are supported by more than 30 staff in grades 7-9 (there are about 60 staff in total at our school). Our cheerful team consists of teachers, resource educators, student coordinators, student hosts, school nurses, school counselors, special education teachers, special educators, career counselors, and principals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher, you will help develop the school's educational activities. The work consists of planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing teaching in collaboration with the work team and/or subject teachers based on our governing documents and the goals of the organization. The pedagogical responsibility that teachers have for ensuring that students reach their goals often requires ingenuity, creativity, and flexibility. You have high expectations for the students and can motivate them by clarifying the goals so that they achieve good results in their schoolwork. The work requires collaboration with other colleagues at the school in a humble spirit. In the role of a teacher, a good ability to analyze the student's needs and the ability to use a well-adapted methodology for the student and the group is required. During the autumn term, all mathematics teachers will participate in the municipality-wide initiative Algebra Monday, which we hope will contribute to students succeeding even better.

You will share the mentoring assignment with a colleague. Together, you are responsible for one of our classes. Mentoring at Getingeskolan means that as a mentor, you are responsible for supporting students in their studies, in their social development, and for monitoring their attendance/absence at school. You will collaborate and continuously inform guardians. You will have development discussions with your mentees once per term and, if necessary, more meetings or follow-up meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Teaching certification with authorization to teach mathematics, technology, and science subjects in grades 7-9.
