The orthopedic area is a university healthcare unit that operates in the hospitals of Hässleholm and Kristianstad. The future of orthopedics in Hässleholm (FORTH) is an upcoming exciting development of orthopedic operations with a new construction of the entire surgical unit that we are very much looking forward to.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now welcome a new nursing colleague to our happy and wonderful team. We offer you the opportunity to develop in your professional role together with competent colleagues who always put the patient at the center.

In the role of nurse, you will have a care responsibility for patients' pre- and post-operative care, where you are involved and ensure that our patients receive the best possible care. You will work, among other things, in the pre-operative part of the clinic with information, sampling, and registration. Furthermore, you will also work with telephone advice and your own clinic activities, such as suture removals and dressing changes. You will also provide patients with information and prepare them for surgery, as well as be responsible for post-operative monitoring of vital parameters. Additionally, you will perform medical orders and reports to the care department and be responsible for discharge information before the patient goes home.

In the post-operative department, patients are monitored after elective orthopedic procedures. We have ten monitoring places and take care of 20-25 patients daily, pre- and post-operatively. We have both inpatient and outpatient patients. The post-operative department is open 24/7, Monday to Thursday, and until 7 PM on Fridays. We have fixed night staff. There are about 20 employees in the department, both nurses and nursing assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement. We prefer that you have experience in similar work and/or emergency care. Experience in outpatient care is also considered an advantage since work in the pre-operative clinic will be part of the position. If you have knowledge of Melior and Orbit, that is a plus.

As a person, you are responsible and secure in your professional role while being attentive and curious to learn new things. The work requires that you have a flexible approach and enjoy working at a varying pace. Your working method is characterized by focusing on the patient and patient safety. Furthermore, you enjoy working in a team and actively contribute to creating a good working atmosphere.
