We are expanding our operations and are looking for a team leader for the recovery and postoperative unit at our hospital in Ystad. The hospital in Ystad is an emergency hospital with a wide range of specialized care and a family-like atmosphere. We offer health and medical care with quality, accessibility, a holistic view, and care. The intensive care and postoperative department in Ystad currently has intensive care beds, intermediate beds, and postoperative care beds that are staffed around the clock, where both children and adults are cared for. The recovery department also has ten monitoring places from Monday to Friday, where both children and adults are cared for. The intensive care unit focuses on general intensive care and offers treatment in a high-tech environment. We perform surgeries in general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, as well as ear, nose, and throat surgeries. As an intensive care nurse, you participate in the hospital's alarm chain and are part of the mobile intensive care group (MIG).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

For our recovery and postoperative part, we are looking for a team leader who wants to vary and distribute their working hours between clinical and administrative work. You will have a unique opportunity to influence and develop care, both internally and externally.

As a team leader, you are an important representative of the employer in the operations by conveying our values and positions in an engaging and trustworthy manner. Both internally towards colleagues and employees, as well as externally towards our patients and citizens. In your role, you act with the best interests of the operations in focus and are guided by the team leader and operational perspective.

Your main task is to lead the care team and act as a competence support in daily work. You deepen your skills and contribute to the development of nursing and manage all care situations that arise within the unit. In your role as team leader, you are a role model regarding professional conduct and treatment for all employees. Additionally, you work to develop nursing work based on well-founded evidence and experience-based knowledge and work in close consultation with the unit manager and the medically responsible physician in the department. As part of the development work, you are also responsible for developing and communicating new working methods in the interprofessional team and work to facilitate compliance among employees.

The competence development of our employees is highly prioritized, and in close collaboration with the intensive care responsible physician, you identify the needs for competence development and development within the knowledge area of intensive care. Every week we also have competence-enhancing lectures in the unit to ensure that you and your colleagues are constantly developing.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. You have knowledge of Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale. Additionally, you have a specialist education in intensive, anesthesia, emergency, or ambulance care as well as a basic level supervisor training of 7.5 higher education credits or equivalent. We see it as an asset if you have experience in emergency care, postoperative care, or intensive care.

As a person, you have a positive attitude and are outgoing. Since we work under the principle of freedom under responsibility, you need to have personal maturity and a good ability to collaborate with different colleagues. This is a position for you who is flexible and can quickly adapt to changed conditions when needed. Furthermore, it is required that you as a person can handle stressful situations. We place great importance on personal suitability.
