Our unit for Asthma and Allergy is part of the Lung Clinic in Lund. We are a specialist clinic welcoming patients for the investigation of severe asthma, allergies to food, medications, and insect venom. We also investigate patients with angioedema and chronic urticaria. Our clinic is also one of the few centers in Sweden for patients with HAE diagnosis.

We work cross-professionally, with the patients' needs at the center, where care and treatment are individualized and characterized by professional interaction and care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As we have a colleague retiring, you now have the chance to become part of our asthma and allergy team. Our days are filled with various skin tests, spirometry, allergen immunotherapy, provocations, and happy laughter.

As a nurse, you will have varied tasks. You will meet patients during investigation and follow-up visits and nurse consultations, including allergen immunotherapy. The examinations include spirometry, prick tests, medical technical procedures, and medication administration in various forms. You will also work administratively with telephone advice, follow-ups via 1177, referral management, waiting lists, and patient bookings to the clinic.

As a new employee with us, you will receive a tailored introduction and shadowing, as well as mandatory training in Allergen Immunotherapy. Since 2023, we also have an integrated training package that has been highly appreciated. With lectures once a week for ten weeks, you will gain in-depth knowledge about the various areas we work within at the Lung Clinic, such as ventilation, thoracic oncology, general and specialized lung medicine, and thoracic surgical care.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. A prerequisite for the role is that you have previous work experience as a nurse. If you have completed the training for the care of people with allergies, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or have experience working with similar patients, this is an advantage.
