The Department of Hematology, Oncology, and Radiation Physics is responsible for non-surgical cancer care and research-based development in the southern healthcare region, serving a population of approximately 1.6 million residents. The department has outpatient and inpatient units in Malmö, Lund, and Helsingborg. Skåne University Hospital (Sus) has three highly specialized oncological wards that treat most oncological diagnoses. We receive both elective and emergency patients. Our operations are at the forefront of research and development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome another nurse to our staffing pool within oncology!

In your role, you will work in the oncological inpatient care and our emergency operations where we receive acutely ill patients. The work is located in our three inpatient units and emergency operations in Malmö and Lund. As a nurse with us, you will work closely with nursing assistants and doctors. On a typical workday, you will be responsible for the care of the patients in your team as well as handling medical technical aids and medications. We offer a wide medical breadth and highly specialized oncological treatment, which is both developing and interesting.

We provide regular internal lectures and workshops to spread and share knowledge. As a newly hired nurse, you will receive a tailored introduction over six to eight weeks where we teach you the basics of oncology and cytostatics, as we are aware that this is only superficially covered in most training programs. For those interested, we offer internal advanced training as well as opportunities for further education to become a specialist nurse in oncology. We provide you with an open and positive work climate with opportunities for both individual competence development.

Your primary place of work will be Malmö, but work will also occur in Lund.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with a couple of years of experience and have the authority to work within Swedish healthcare and an interest in oncological care. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement for the position.
