The Security Police is looking for someone who wants to outsmart security measures and make computer systems behave in ways they were not intended to. We believe you have experience in development and an interest in offensive IT security. You will develop software for the collection of information that we need in our intelligence and investigation activities.

This is your mission

Within the Security Police's area of operations for cyber technology, the authority's experts in offensive IT security and technical vulnerability analysis gather.

Your work aims to develop tools for collecting information needed in the Security Police's intelligence and investigation work.

This is done by identifying vulnerabilities in applications and systems and writing software that exploits these. You work closely with the use of the tools and see the results of your work benefit Sweden's security.

We believe you are interested in several programming languages. For the position, it is good to be open to choosing the programming language that is most suitable for the current task.

You will have great opportunities to influence the unit's method development, and you have the opportunity to control your technical work environment. We primarily work in a Linux environment.

Monitoring the external environment and skills development is a necessary and obvious part of the job.

Your placement is at the headquarters in Solna, and the work is performed on-site, which means that you do not have the opportunity to work remotely. Travel within Sweden may occur.

The qualifications we are looking for in you

Only those who meet the following requirements can be considered for the position.

Requirements:

• Experience in software development
• Experience in reverse engineering and debugging
• You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

The employment requires Swedish citizenship.

You who apply may also have skills that add breadth and complementary perspectives. If you can contribute with one or more of the following, it is meritorious:

• Experience in exploit development
• Experience in operating system-level programming
• Experience in C/C++
• Experience in assembler, e.g., for ARM/AArch64 or x86/x64
• Experience in technical security reviews and vulnerability analysis
• Understanding of different types of vulnerability classes
• Understanding of security mechanisms in modern operating systems and techniques to circumvent them

Employment conditions and benefits

Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as employment with the Security Police involves placement in a security class. Employment also requires a satisfactory result in the security screening with background check, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act.

This is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. We apply individual salary setting. With employment comes an obligation to be placed in wartime.
