The area of operation (VO) Neurosurgery and Pain Rehabilitation in Lund is one of seven neurosurgical units in Sweden that offers highly specialized care in the southern healthcare region to patients with injuries and diseases of the central nervous system. The operation consists of a care department, day care, operating department, neuro-intensive care unit, and outpatient clinic.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The department is a magnet department where Competence and service model are part of the journey. The project is ongoing and the work will continue during the autumn. The magnet model identifies nursing as one of the main processes in healthcare and focuses on achieving very good nursing outcomes.

Our teams in the department consist of nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and medical secretaries. Nursing leaders and clinical teachers are available to coach and guide in nursing work. We also have a pharmacist who assists with medication preparations and services related to medications. The nursing assistants are responsible for my plans and operational responsibilities. In these roles, they have an overall view of our patient flow in the department.

We work with pre and post-operative care for our neurosurgical patients to provide them with safe and secure nursing. We consider the whole patient and adapt the care according to the patient's various needs during the hospital stay.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a flexible approach and the ability to prioritize and organize various tasks. The work requires commitment, good service sense, and a high degree of personal responsibility, which is why personal suitability and social competence weigh heavily.

The formal requirements for the position include being a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement.
