Support Educator at Kungsholmen District Administration

As a support educator with us, you will play a central role in the development and improvement work of the organization.

You will work closely with both users and staff to map, further develop, and implement new communication strategies.

You are offered a project employment for 12 months from the start date of employment, with the possibility of extension. The position is located at our two centrally located group homes, Herden and Linden on Kungsholmen, with easy access to public transport.

We are looking for a support educator who wants to lead our project 'How can users and staff understand each other better?'. In this key role, you will contribute to ensuring individualized support and developing a pedagogical and professional approach among employees.

Your role

Your main tasks include:

  • Supporting users in expressing their needs and wishes to make everyday life more manageable and understandable.
  • Promoting independence and participation by strengthening the individual's abilities and opportunities to make their own decisions.
  • Contributing to a safe and meaningful everyday life for residents by creating social interaction, activities, and a stimulating environment.
  • Developing and implementing individual documentation and response plans.
  • Supporting colleagues in establishing, following up, and quality assuring implementation plans, as well as ensuring high standards in social documentation.
  • Guiding employees in ethical issues and pedagogical methods.
  • Providing pedagogical support to colleagues in using individualized communication tools.
  • Coordinating collaboration with relatives and interdisciplinary teams.

Your qualifications and experience

You are a qualified support educator, social worker, behavioral scientist, or have another equivalent education deemed suitable by the employer. You have at least two years of experience working with people with disabilities. You have solid knowledge of and can apply relevant laws, guidelines, policies, and routines.

  • Leading projects
  • Leading staff groups
  • Leading staff in pedagogical matters
  • Working with clarifying pedagogy

The Department of Social Services is responsible for the care of people with disabilities, individual and family care, financial assistance, and labor market measures, as well as field and leisure activities. In 2025, responsibility for playground activities will be transferred to the department. For certain positions within the Social Services Department, a criminal record check may be required.
