About the position

Saab is now looking for an experienced strategic buyer for the Aviation Aftermarket department. We are looking for someone who has a passion for purchasing and a strong business focus, and who wants to be part of a team that works to create sustainable and cost-effective solutions for the future of security technology. This is a consultancy assignment and you will be employed by us at Poolia. The assignment starts immediately and lasts for 6 months with a good chance of extension.

Your main responsibilities

As a Strategic Buyer, you will:

• Be responsible for business relationships with selected strategic suppliers focusing on their long-term commitment to Saab.
• Be responsible for procurement in both new and existing projects in close collaboration with the Aeronautics technical and engineering teams.
• Act as project leader for the purchasing team in larger projects and ensure that purchases are made in accordance with project requirements and timelines.
• Develop and implement strategic purchasing strategies to ensure the best possible deliveries to Saab.
• Lead and drive negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal agreements and cost-effective solutions.
• Work cross-functionally with internal departments to identify and understand needs within production, research, and development.
• Ensure that purchases are made in accordance with the company's policies, quality requirements, and sustainability goals.
• Identify and manage risks in the supply chain to ensure continuity in production.
• Initiate and drive continuous development within your area of responsibility.

Who are you?

You have an education in purchasing, logistics, engineering, or equivalent experience. Several years of experience in strategic purchasing, preferably within a technical or industrial-related business. Strong negotiation skills and a strong business orientation. Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
