IT System Manager

Svenska kraftnät is one of the most important players for a sustainable energy transition. As an IT System Manager, you will be offered one of Sweden's most important IT jobs, where you will contribute to Sweden's electricity supply every day. We need you to succeed in our socially important mission to electrify Sweden.

We currently have about 600 people in IT, and we will grow further in the coming years. This is to create conditions for Sweden to double its electricity production and achieve climate goals by completely transitioning to fossil-free energy. To succeed, we will use the latest technology to increase the capacity of our infrastructure while also accelerating the development pace around systems, digitalization, and processes.

If you want to work and develop in a growing organization together with competent colleagues in a forward-leaning and robust IT organization, come to us!

About the position

You will belong to the Electricity Market Applications unit, which currently consists of about 15 employees. The unit primarily focuses on system management/lifecycle management, development, and operation of business-critical applications. These are used for outage management, capacity forecasting, electricity trading, and settlement in the Swedish and Nordic electricity markets and provide support for the management of the power system. The applications have high demands for security, accuracy, and availability.

As an IT System Manager in Electricity Market Applications, you will work closely with the business, and your work will determine whether the business does a good or very good job and whether they can continuously streamline their processes.

Your tasks include, among other things:

  • Managing incidents, problems, and troubleshooting in the 2nd line, as well as planning, presenting, and following up on changes.
  • Automating flows and contributing to improving work methods and routines.
  • Providing support to internal and external parties.

  • Managing system suppliers and contracts.
  • Ensuring annual cycle activities such as risk analyses, recovery plans, operational and security permits.
  • Working to create and maintain test and development environments as well as controlled deployment of applications and services in our own data centers.
  • Coordinating various types of tests and conducting parts of them yourself together with the business and our security specialists and test leaders.

You will have the support of other system managers, programmers/system developers, test leaders, system and business specialists, as well as domain and solution architects.

About you

To be successful in this role, we see that you are responsible and results-oriented. We are looking for someone who is also structured and meticulous. Since the work involves many contact areas, you need to be communicative and good at collaborating.

We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Furthermore, we see that you have a relevant university degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or at least 10 years of work experience in these areas. You also have:

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in system and application management, of which at least 1 year with business-critical and/or security-sensitive systems.
  • Experience in requirements management and test planning.
  • Worked with supplier management and follow-up of international suppliers.
  • Basic platform competence in IT (i.e., firewalls, networks, storage, access management, AD groups).
  • Work experience in accordance with ITIL and/or PM3 or equivalent methods/frameworks.
  • Worked on projects involving the implementation or integration of business systems as a project participant with e.g., PPS, Prince2, or XLPM as a basis.
  • You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and can negotiate in international environments.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Work experience in system and application management in an international environment (Europe/Nordic).
