The Multilingual Unit consists of a large team of about 50 teachers who provide study guidance/instruction to approximately 800 multilingual children and students spread across most preschools/schools in Varberg Municipality (currently offering about 30 languages).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a mother tongue teacher, you will be responsible, together with relevant colleagues, for the students' continued language development and goal fulfillment, where a solution-focused and independent working method in the team is a prerequisite for a successful learning environment. You will primarily work with study guidance in elementary school and language support in preschool, but mother tongue instruction in elementary school/high school may also be relevant. Individual interpreting assignments in the Multilingual Unit regarding the mapping of newly arrived students may also be relevant.

Your work is very independent, but you will also be part of a team and various development groups, and therefore good collaboration skills and proficiency in Swedish (Swedish 3 or equivalent) are required.

You will work at several different workplaces, and therefore a driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for mother tongue teachers and study guides in the mother tongue as well as language support in preschool in Kurdish. We are seeking one teacher in Kurmanji and one teacher to teach Sorani/Badinani. We want you to have a teaching degree or other educational training and experience. You thrive in an environment that demands punctuality, responsibility, flexibility, decisiveness, a high level of service, and social competence.

You should be able to work and communicate digitally via learning platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite/Classroom. Please describe your digital competence in your application.

As a teacher, you are engaged and have a formative approach with the ability to create motivating and activating teaching. Your teaching is based on proven experience and scientific foundations with an exploratory approach.

You enjoy collaborating with colleagues and actively contribute to developing the operations by planning and following up on teaching together. You have a good structure in your work and can adapt teaching based on students' needs and the school's goals. It is advantageous to have a driver's license and access to a personal vehicle as the work may involve travel between different schools.
