Foster Care Secretary at the Foster Care Center in Umeå

The Individual and Family Care Services in Umeå municipality aim to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.

At the Foster Care Center, we work to recruit, assess, and train foster homes to ensure that every child and youth placed outside their home receives the best possible care.

Your Responsibilities

As a foster care secretary within the Foster Care Center, you will work with the recruitment, assessment, and matching of foster homes, emergency homes, contact families, and support families. Your tasks will also include training and providing support to foster homes. The work involves travel within and outside the county.

About You

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience working with children and youth within social services. We prefer that you have training in the new Kälvestén interview method. Experience working with placed children and youth within social services is considered an asset.

The work requires a high ability to collaborate, good initiative, and the ability to work independently. You also possess good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

A valid driver's license is a requirement for this position.

Smoking and pets may be present in the homes of the foster families you visit, so it is preferable if you are not allergic.

Due to the law on suitability checks, a police record extract must be presented upon employment.
