Project Manager in Command Systems
Are you a technology-interested and proactive project manager who wants to help shape the future of command systems? We are now looking for a new employee for FMV's area of operations Command Systems. In close collaboration with various experts from FMV, FOI, and the Armed Forces, you will have the opportunity to influence projects that strengthen the Armed Forces' and Sweden's defense capabilities. Your work is significant at every step, from needs and ideas to delivery and follow-up.
About the position
As a project manager for research and technology development projects within FMV's area of operations Command Systems, you will work on procuring technology development from industry and other actors. The projects provide the necessary knowledge that FMV needs to procure the right systems for the Armed Forces. The projects you are responsible for include those where the Swedish Armed Forces are the only stakeholder as well as projects involving multiple nations, such as EU projects.
In your role, you will be responsible for leading projects from start to finish, including monitoring the budget and progress of the projects. You will take an active role alongside other project managers in the area to develop the operations by improving processes and working methods and supporting each other where needed. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with subject matter experts at FMV for the projects you lead and establish contacts and collaborate with the Armed Forces, FOI, industry, and international actors.
The position is based in Stockholm. Travel may occur as part of the job.
About you
We are looking for someone with a technical university degree or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we consider comparable. Furthermore, you have experience in project management and express yourself very well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
It is an advantage if you have project management training and good knowledge of various project management models. Experience working with complex or international projects is a plus. We also appreciate if you have experience in negotiations and in preparing reports, presentation materials, and decision-making documents. If you have also worked with forecasts and financial follow-up of projects in business systems, we see that as a strength.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who naturally creates contacts and maintains relationships and enjoys collaborating both internally and externally. You are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. Furthermore, you are comfortable with change and easily adapt to new circumstances. We also see that you take your own initiatives and have the ability to plan, prioritize, and organize your work in a structured way.
FMV – The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration
At FMV, you contribute to making Sweden and the world safer. We are tasked with providing the Swedish Armed Forces with the latest technology and knowledge so they can defend our country and our allies. Together with competent and engaged colleagues, you will be involved in developing and procuring what sometimes does not yet exist. You drive the development all the way from needs to delivery. From idea to reality.
The Command Systems area within FMV works with today's and tomorrow's rapidly changing technology that supports the Armed Forces' soldiers, sailors, and officers in communicating with each other, gaining a better overview of the situation, and in decision-making. The technology enables everything from individual systems such as Archer, Jas 39 Gripen, Corvette Visby, and Combat Vehicle 90 to entire units to achieve maximum effectiveness but in many cases also to operate at all. The Command Systems area thus contributes to all branches of defense being able to conduct their operations and reach their full potential, thereby contributing to a stronger defense.
At FMV, you are offered a secure employment with good benefits:
- Professional development and career opportunities
- Flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work as far as the work allows
