Oncology Department 86 is the region's largest oncology specialist department with a national mission within cancer care. Here you will meet patients with various cancer diagnoses and become part of the future of cancer care. We are the only oncology inpatient department in Lund and Malmö that cares for tracheostomized patients as well as patients undergoing radioactive treatments. We work with person-centered care conducted through teamwork between nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors, as well as physiotherapists and occupational therapists. The work on the department is varied with specialized oncological nursing such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and pain optimization. We offer a stimulating work environment where we value development work and continuing education for both new hires and experienced staff.

The area of operations (VO) hematology, oncology, and radiation physics is responsible for non-surgical cancer care and research-based development in the southern healthcare region, which has a population of approximately 1.6 million inhabitants. The area of operations has outpatient and inpatient units in Malmö, Lund, and Helsingborg.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an operational nurse manager, you have operational management responsibility and replace the unit manager in certain matters. You work both operationally and strategically and hold a leading position in the department. Your tasks include, in addition to operational management, assisting the unit manager in various aspects such as recruitment, deviation work, business development, financial action plans, and holding certain meetings on behalf of the unit manager.

Additionally, you coach your colleagues in complex nursing situations, participate in quality and development work, and assist in operational work when required. The role may also involve patient-facing work as a nurse on the floor, which includes handling medical technical equipment, medications, and nursing care for patients.

As a new colleague with us, you will receive an individually tailored introduction. Your introduction is broader to gain better insight, understanding, and grasp of the oncology reception and to promote new contact points, which is important in your role as nursing responsible.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare, with experience of clinical work in inpatient care. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement.

You need to have a good understanding and insight into inpatient care. If you have experience in oncology, we see it as a positive. It is also meritorious if you have taken leadership training without being a manager or have experience from similar assignments previously. Previous work in quality and development work is also valued. We view it positively if you have a specialist education in a relevant direction.
