About us

Svensk Naturvård AB is a small consulting company in nature conservation, currently in an expansion phase where we want to grow and become larger. We primarily work with manual and practical conservation projects for both the public and private sectors. As a consultant with us, you will be part of a wonderful and inclusive team where everyone is trained biologists or has equivalent competence. Most of the work is carried out in Uppsala and surrounding areas, but some projects may involve travel and overnight stays (the company covers accommodation and allowances). Today, the team consists of five full-time employees and two part-time employees.

About the position

We are looking for a driven and committed employee who enjoys working practically in the field.

The tasks include, among other things:

- Working with clearing and chainsaw, for example, freeing valuable trees and veteranization.

- Mowing of meadow and pasture areas with a scythe or manual mower.

- Controlling invasive plant species.

- Creating structures to benefit specific species, such as sand beds for insects or brush piles for salamanders.

We offer great flexibility and are happy to adapt the position to your wishes and competencies. We are primarily looking for full-time staff, but part-time may also be of interest. We welcome applications from people living both within and outside Uppsala.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Education in biology, conservation, or equivalent competence.
• Basic species knowledge (ability to identify common tree and shrub species as well as common vascular plants).
• Enjoy working outdoors/in the field.
• Good teamwork skills and a professional attitude.
• Speaks Swedish.
• Good physical condition.
• Driving license B.

Meritorious:

• Trained in clearing and/or chainsaw.
• Experience working with clearing or chainsaw.
• Experience working in nature reserves or key biotopes.
• Experience in fieldwork and/or practical conservation.
• Experience in inventory.
