IT Project Manager

You will be part of the project office within the IT management of Region Kalmar County, where we drive digitization projects and are responsible for developing and managing methods, models, and tools for project governance.

In your role, you will primarily lead IT technical projects, from definition and planning to execution and delivery. You will ensure that project goals are achieved within given time and budget constraints. The projects may encompass areas such as IT infrastructure, system development, database solutions, security, integrations, and cloud services. You will work closely with both core operations and IT operations, with continuous dialogue and collaboration with project stakeholders.

You will manage several parallel projects or sub-projects, often with a technical complexity that requires both depth and breadth in IT. Your role also includes performing technical analyses, feasibility studies, and investigations to ensure sustainable and effective solutions. Your workplace will be one of our locations in Kalmar, Västervik, or Oskarshamn, but the projects cover the entire county, which means travel is required.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• an academic education in IT or other relevant education and work experience deemed equivalent
• experience leading technical IT projects, preferably within a larger organization
• good technical understanding and experience in areas such as IT infrastructure, system integration, cloud services, or security solutions.

It is advantageous if you have:

• certification or training in project management, for example, according to PPS, PM3, Scrum, or equivalent
• experience with larger projects in IT infrastructure, servers, storage, or data centers.

As a person, you are clear and communicative, with the ability to create trusting relationships both internally and externally. You work in a structured and results-oriented manner, focusing on planning, budgeting, and follow-up. You have good analytical skills and can understand technical solutions at both an overarching and detailed level.
