About Us

At the pain clinic Nyköping Hospital (NLN), we conduct regional multimodal rehabilitation (MMR2) for individuals with chronic pain at a specialist level. The clinic's patients often have extensive and complex issues, and our main focus is to support them in managing a daily life with chronic pain problems.

We have 2 teams staffed with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers/therapists, psychologists, and secretaries. The psychologist works as part of the team, conducting individual sessions as well as group activities. The psychologist is also an important support for other professionals when treating complex patients.

The pain clinic is part of the rehabilitation medicine clinic, which is a newly established clinic currently providing outpatient rehabilitation for individuals with chronic pain, as well as for individuals with stroke/brain injury. Future plans include developing the clinic for specialized rehabilitation and follow-up of individuals with spinal cord injuries and other traumatic injuries.

Your Responsibilities

You will work with individual sessions with patients whose issues may include both physical and emotional traumas, depression, anxiety, and neuropsychiatric disabilities. The team formulates a rehabilitation plan together with the patient, which serves as the basis for the individual treatment. Everyone in the team participates in group activities in our basic programs focusing on knowledge about living with chronic pain and therapeutic modules (e.g., ACT and mindfulness).

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed psychologist who needs to have good collaboration skills as you will be part of a team. We prefer that you have personal maturity and empathy to meet our complex patients. It is an advantage if you have knowledge and experience with the patient group. We place great importance on personal qualities.
