Your development enables our future

The National Audit Office is in an exciting phase with the goal of becoming a leading authority. An important part of this work is to increase the element of data-driven work. TIDA's task is to promote the National Audit Office's data and technology transformation. Currently, eight people work here to support and inspire the audit operations to use innovative analytical methods and to develop solutions that can improve and streamline the processes and working methods of the organization.

With us, you will have the chance to put your knowledge into practice and contribute within a government agency under the parliament. It is a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of AI, machine learning, and language technology in a developing environment. Innovation is highly valued here, and your work can play a role in improving our important work. We encourage initiative and self-drive, and there are great opportunities for you to shape your summer job.

What does the position entail?

At TIDA's initiative, we will collaboratively design a project that suits you and provides value to the organization. Someone from TIDA will be responsible for the project and will mentor you, but we also encourage independent work. Examples of projects that may be relevant include:

  • assisting the organization with advanced data analysis, such as the application of AI, machine learning, or large language models
  • building a prototype, application, process, or service that is tested and may eventually be used in the organization.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who:

  • is studying to become a civil engineer with a focus on AI, machine learning, or language technology. Your education emphasizes application rather than theory
  • has good knowledge of Python coding
  • has excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good knowledge of English
  • is creative and proactive by bringing ideas, initiating activities, and having innovative thinking that can be put into practice
  • is self-sufficient and takes responsibility for your tasks and drives your work forward
  • has good collaboration skills where you are attentive and communicate well with others.

It is an advantage if you have an interest in social science issues and want to apply your knowledge in public operations. We place great importance on your specialized knowledge in the field as well as your personal qualities.

Our offer

You will receive a temporary employment contract with an employer that offers all the benefits of the state. The employment is hourly paid and corresponds to full-time for about two months during the summer of 2025, but it can be spread out over time. We will agree together on when you start.

We have a modern activity-based office at Sankt Eriksgatan 117 in Stockholm that offers good opportunities for both quiet work and conversations and meetings with colleagues. For us, it is obvious that our employees have the conditions for a balance between work and private life. Therefore, you have trust-based working hours and some freedom to adjust your working hours so that both your work and your leisure time work for you. There is also the possibility to work remotely from home up to 40 percent of your working time.

About the National Audit Office

The National Audit Office provides facts about how the state’s operations function. We examine where state funds go, how effectively authorities work, and whether political decisions lead to the intended outcomes. This knowledge can be used to improve the government's and authorities' work and save taxpayer money. When there are shortcomings, we provide recommendations to the government and authorities to improve operations. Our independent position and the transparency we contribute are important for a well-functioning democratic country. Our goal is that our audits make a difference for people both now and in the future.

We also represent Sweden in audit contexts and have development cooperation with audit authorities in Africa, Southeast Europe, and Asia.
