About us

Our unit Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) Hisingen is part of the area of Neurology and Child Psychiatry at Queen Silvia's Children's Hospital.

The outpatient care's mission is to assess and treat children and adolescents up to 18 years old with moderate to severe mental health issues. This requires both broad and deep competence, and the work is carried out in teams with psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, medical secretaries, and doctors.

We are a group of dedicated employees who place great value on professionalism and patient focus. Currently, six nurses work at the clinic, enjoying each other's company and supporting one another in their work. Two of our nurses have chosen to move on to new assignments, and therefore we are looking for two new colleagues. We are an innovative clinic with several exciting projects underway. In 2023 and 2024, we have introduced digital working methods, including a system called Blå Appen. Projects to implement mentalization-based approaches have begun at the clinic. We are located in nice premises on Gamla Tuvevägen, near Backaplan, about 8 minutes from Gothenburg city center by public transport.

Job responsibilities

Your responsibilities include common tasks for nurses within Child and Adolescent Psychiatric outpatient care. Main tasks include medication follow-ups, ongoing assessments of conditions such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm behavior, among others. Additionally, you will provide advice regarding lifestyle issues and psychoeducation concerning current diagnostic groups. You need to feel comfortable working independently, but the work also occurs in close collaboration with other professionals in the team. You are an important source of information and knowledge regarding medical issues for the rest of the team. Here, you have doctors available to assist you, for example, through the possibility of daily medical rounds.

About you

We are looking for a licensed nurse with experience in child and adolescent psychiatric work or experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You should be well acquainted with IT systems such as Melior, 1177, ELVIS, and Blå Appen. You will partially have the opportunity to work from home as we currently use digital care forms such as Blå Appen and digital care meetings.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability, where it is important that you are curious and have a genuine interest in the target group. We are a large clinic where a lot is happening both in the short and long term, and therefore you need to be able to adapt to changes relatively quickly and be open to changes. We want you to enjoy working with us, so colleagues will participate in the interview process. Selection and recruitment occur continuously during the application period.
