The Game Assembly is looking for a substitute in game programming

The Game Assembly (TGA) is a higher vocational education institution in Malmö and Stockholm that educates game developers for the national and international games industry.

Founded in 2008, The Game Assembly trains game developers in six different professional categories: programming, graphics, animation, level design, technical art, and procedural art. To date, The Game Assembly has educated over 10% of the Swedish games industry, making the school a strong player in the ecosystem of the gaming industry. In the last three years, TGA has ranked highly on The Rookies' annual list of the world's best game development schools. The Game Assembly is LGBTQI-certified and actively works for inclusion and diversity.

About the position

One of our colleagues will be on leave, therefore The Game Assembly is now looking for a substitute in game programming who will work to educate our students on-site at Stora Essingen in Stockholm. We are looking for someone who can complement our knowledge and, together with three other educators in game programming, drive the education forward. The work includes teaching with associated preparation and follow-up work, as well as mentoring students in both game project courses and more specialized individual courses (e.g., software development and software architecture).

The Game Assembly's unique educational concept is based on the fact that the programs at the school together create games, which means you will also have close collaboration with the other educational leaders.

Who are we looking for?

To thrive in the role of educator, we see that you are communicative and have a genuine interest in people and game development. You have good pedagogical skills along with a humble approach and patience. Furthermore, you have a deep interest in programming. You need to have a good understanding of the Swedish language as the entire education is conducted in Swedish.

We would like you to have:

• good knowledge of programming in C++
• experience developing and working in your own game engine
• experience in the games industry
• knowledge in software development
• experience in mentoring

It is a bonus if you have:

• studied at The Game Assembly
• good knowledge of programming in C#
• experience with Unity
• experience in mobile game development
