Håbo Municipality is an expanding municipality where environmental and sustainability issues are a priority.

The role of the urban planner is placed in the Technical and Community Development Administration, under the Planning and Development Department. The department is responsible for the municipality's physical planning, GIS/Geodata, as well as the management and development of the municipality's land and properties.

Here, you will be part of a happy and ambitious workgroup with colleagues such as sustainability strategists, traffic planners, cartographers, planning architects, and project managers.

Your Responsibilities

As an urban planner with us, you contribute to a long-term sustainable development within urban planning. The work is based on the municipality's governing documents, such as the comprehensive plan, housing supply program, and sustainability strategy, as well as applicable legislation. This includes leading the development of new strategic documents and implementing and following up on existing ones. You will also participate in community development projects and assess conditions for detailed planning and exploitation.

As an urban planner, you participate in the work of other authorities related to community development issues, which may involve responding to consultations and participating in regional forums and collaboration groups. You provide the municipality's decision-makers with background material and participate in investigations that affect the municipality. You are also responsible for drafting strategic documents, preparing and presenting cases for the political organization, and driving and developing processes related to long-term planning. This requires good collaboration with various competencies, both internally and externally. Contact with decision-makers, associations, and residents is a natural part of your work.

Your work is varied and includes, in addition to strategic documents, responsibility for demographic issues and support to the municipality's sustainability strategist in various sustainability tasks.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in urban planning or physical planning. The employer can assess other degrees or work experience as equivalent.

You have experience in strategic urban planning and good knowledge of legislation in the field. You are engaged in community development issues and have a strong interest in sustainable development.

Has an easy time collaborating with colleagues and meets the public, businesses, and other stakeholders in a professional manner. Since you both participate in and lead projects, we see it as an advantage if you have experience in this.

You are responsible and driven, with the ability to see holistic solutions from a sustainability perspective. You can argue pedagogically and factually and are used to working both independently and in a group. You have experience and feel comfortable presenting both orally and in writing.

It is also an advantage if you have experience working in a politically governed organization as well as in community development, where various interests need to be taken into account.
