At the Community Department, we work for the sustainable development of the county from both a social, environmental, and economic perspective. We do this in the areas of urban planning, housing supply, cultural heritage conservation, social sustainability, as well as climate and energy. We also work for a safe society, with good preparedness and resilience in the event of accidents, crises, and wars.

Job Description

We are now looking for a climate and sustainability strategist for our Climate and Energy unit.

You will work on various tasks related to energy and climate transition, but work on climate adaptation and within regional development and sustainability may also be relevant. The tasks may vary over time.

You will collaborate with colleagues from the County Administrative Board, but also externally with actors from municipalities, businesses, and other organizations. There may also be opportunities to work in project form and monitor new calls for project funding and applications for new projects.

Our society is undergoing significant changes in several of the areas the Community Department works with. Climate and energy, urban planning, sustainability, and preparedness, to name a few. Transformations are underway that are essential to prepare our society for the future. You will play a central role in this work. You will have a very meaningful job to go to!

Qualifications

You have a degree from a post-secondary education in a relevant field. Education in energy, environment, and/or sustainability is an advantage.

You have experience and are accustomed to working in groups and creating and maintaining professional contacts. We prefer that you have experience in the areas of Climate and Energy, Urban Planning, Sustainability, and/or Climate Adaptation.

It is also advantageous if you have experience in:

  • development work
  • work that involves a lot of contacts with various people and organizations
  • independent and proactive work

As a person, you are positive and driven with the ability to work independently. You also have the ability to plan, structure, and work well both individually and in a group. You are attentive, pedagogical, and efficient, driven by achieving results, and are persistent. You are engaged and inspiring, and you find it easy to collaborate and create good relationships, thereby finding common solutions. You are curious and share our interest in social issues, development work, and the pursuit of long-term sustainability in society. You contribute to a good work climate.

You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and are experienced in making oral presentations. You are a proficient user of the Office suite and other administrative tools. You have a good ability to work in a structured manner and meet set deadlines.

You have good self-leadership – that is, the ability to plan, manage, and execute your work independently based on given goals and frameworks.

Employment

The employment is permanent, and a probationary period applies. Security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may be relevant. With employment comes the obligation to be placed in wartime.
