The Development and Management Unit 1, located in the IT department of the Swedish Transport Agency, is responsible for supporting our core operations in the product areas of Roads and Railways and Vehicle Ownership. Placement in other product areas may also be relevant for this role.

Our teams are divided into product areas and have their own product owner who manages the backlog while the team, together with other roles, is responsible for how the solution should be designed and implemented.

You will

  • take responsibility for developing, conducting, and analyzing test outcomes, evaluating and reporting test results
  • create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using test automation tools, such as jMeter, ReadyAPI, SoapUI, or Playwright
  • participate in workshops and provide support regarding solutions, support and educate the agile teams with testing expertise
  • support and educate users in our systems
  • drive improvements and automation.

You must have

  • a university degree in IT or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways
  • several years of work experience in testing
  • several years of work experience in the IT field
  • knowledge of test case design and testing methodology
  • good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you also have

  • experience in test automation
  • programming experience within the .NET platform
  • experience with agile methods
  • experience in security and performance testing

More information

The employment is permanent with placement in Örebro, Norrköping, Gothenburg, or Borlänge. Start date by agreement. We normally apply a probationary period. As an employee with us, there is the possibility to work remotely up to three days a week.

It is the needs of the business and the nature of the tasks that determine whether and to what extent this is possible. An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.

About the Swedish Transport Agency

Number of employees: Approximately 2000.

Areas of operation: The Swedish Transport Agency works to achieve good accessibility, high quality, safe, and environmentally friendly transport within rail, aviation, shipping, and road. We develop regulations, grant permits, and monitor compliance. With the help of our registers, we work with fees, permits, and ownership transfers.

Locations: We have employees in 12 locations across the country. The largest part of the operations is in Borlänge, Norrköping, and Örebro. The head office is located in Norrköping.

About the IT department

The IT department consists of five units with associated sections. We are about 300 employees.

We support all departments within the Swedish Transport Agency both strategically and operationally in IT matters. We work with architecture, system development, management, and operation of IT systems as well as infrastructure.
