Technical Manager at Kalmar Energi

Do you want to lead the technical development of a local power grid in a time of rapid electrification and energy transition? Kalmar Energi is looking for a Technical Manager who wants to take responsibility for network development, complex connections, and strategic decisions within electricity distribution (0.4–50 kV).

As a Technical Manager, you will not have personnel responsibility but will work with depth and breadth in technology, be involved in many technical decisions, interact with various external stakeholders, and collaborate closely with the entire Electricity Network unit, which consists of both technicians and engineers.

About the Position

In the role of Technical Manager, you are expected to:

• Be responsible for network development and investment plans.
• Ensure technical conditions for connections to the power grid, including associated risk analyses.
• Be responsible for reporting and data submission to authorities.
• Work with both breadth and depth in technical decisions and have the mandate to drive technical development within the organization, in accordance with applicable guidelines and in dialogue with the Head of Electricity Network.

You will interact daily with your colleagues in the unit to develop and implement requirements and standards for operation, maintenance, new installations, and decommissioning. You will produce technical descriptions of our electrical facilities and serve as technical support for complex power grid issues in projects. The role does not include personnel responsibility.

You will have external dialogues with municipalities and customers, as well as be responsible for project assignments driven by external resources. In addition to the unit's needs, you may also assist the group in investigations, analyses, and larger power facility projects.

After completing the introduction plan, on-call duty (operations manager/week schedule) is included in the position.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in electrical engineering.
• A long experience with at least 5 years of work in power grids, from both low voltage and high voltage (up to 50 kV).
• Good knowledge and experience in power grid calculations.
• Good IT skills with knowledge of power grid calculation programs.
• Experience with SCADA systems, NIS systems, and control equipment.
• A valid driver's license (B).

Meritorious: Authorization A (general competence).
