Sjöstridsskolan is looking for a Cadet Officer

Do you want to help shape and develop the future officers of the Navy? Then the position of Cadet Officer is for you.

The Cadet Unit

The Cadet Unit manages all future naval officers, either fully or partially. The unit conducts training for specialist officers and reserve officers, as well as practical training for officer students with a naval focus. The unit is also responsible for training in subjects such as languages, physical combat readiness, leadership, and pedagogy.

The workplace is located within the Naval Base in Karlskrona, close to modern classrooms and simulators. The position is mainly carried out in Karlskrona, but business trips may occur.

Main Responsibilities

You will be the head of a class of cadets and responsible for them during their study period at the Naval Warfare School.

The daily tasks include, among others:

• Coordinating the cadets' education in collaboration with course leaders
• Being a mentor, responsible for follow-up/individual development of your cadets and their progression towards the upcoming role as an officer in the Navy
• Conducting development talks
• Administering the cadets' travel and finances in the PRIO system

Qualifications

• Completed officer training with a passing result, at least rank OF1 or OR6
• Driver's license B

Desirable

• Maritime competence and/or experience from naval units
• Completed SOU
• Completed UL or other FM leadership courses
• Several years of work experience
• Weapon training, ÖLAK, SUSA

Personal Qualities

You have good personal leadership and are a role model for your future officer colleagues. You can collaborate with others in speech and writing and create and maintain good relationships and a positive work environment.

The Naval Warfare School, SSS, trains officers, specialist officers, sailors, and soldiers at all levels. SSS also conducts studies, trials, and leadership training of ship crews, as well as tactical and technological development within the maritime field. SSS also has a responsibility for diving and naval medicine in the Swedish Armed Forces. SSS is mainly based in Karlskrona in Blekinge but also has a unit in Berga outside Stockholm that specializes in amphibious warfare.
