Blekinge Air Wing is recruiting Intelligence Officers for the Air Base Ranger Company

The Air Base Ranger Company is recruiting intelligence officers for continuous service at the 25th Air Base Ranger Company, Blekinge Air Wing. The position of intelligence officer is an OR 6/OR 7.

The Air Base Ranger Company is the Air Force's primary intelligence unit operating in peace, crisis, and war. Intelligence officers at the company participate in daily operations, planning, training, exercises, and missions. The work as an intelligence officer requires initiative and the ability to work independently and in a team, at various levels. It is essential to be able to work effectively with the company's patrols/platoons in the field as well as with higher commanders and staffs.

Intelligence officers at the Air Base Ranger Company are placed in the company headquarters with a work focus on the company's operational components (patrols/platoons). The tasks include both intelligence and security services. The position does not require being staffed by trained Air Base Rangers. If an individual wishes to become an Air Base Ranger in the long term, a plan will be developed between the individual and the company.

Main Tasks of the Air Base Rangers

• Intelligence Gathering: This involves providing higher commanders with ground intelligence at air bases or other protected assets. This can be achieved through reconnaissance and patrolling with dogs or alternative methods to indicate, locate, identify, document, and, if possible, neutralize threats.
• Rescue Operations: This involves retrieving both civilian and military personnel who have been isolated from their own against their will. Rescue operations are complex tasks that can be carried out under significant uncertainties, elevated threat levels, and time pressure. The task may apply to sensitive materials.
• Flight Security: This involves protecting aircraft and helicopters, crew, and cargo both in the air and on the ground. The threat may consist of attacks or sabotage on the ground during loading and unloading.
• Personal Security: Preventing, countering, and neutralizing security threats against designated protected persons in the Air Force.

• Professional officer
• Driving license B
• Meets the Swedish Armed Forces' physical requirements
• No dog allergies or fear of dogs

Desirable Qualifications

• Training/experience in intelligence or security services
• Training/experience in collaboration/interrogation
• Training/experience in working with IT systems ISUS
• Service in intelligence and security units
• Good writing skills and ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
• Experience in working with security protection and information security
• Experience in government work and knowledge of laws, regulations, and directives in the security field
• Experience in staff work

Personal Characteristics

We are looking for someone who wants to develop within intelligence and security services and enhance the company's intelligence and security services. You will work independently and in teams; at times, the position is intensive, so you need to be stress-resistant and have good collaboration skills. A significant part of the work is classified, requiring a high level of security awareness. We expect that you are task-oriented, creative, and self-driven.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal characteristics and suitability.

Training

Blekinge Air Wing trains three combat units; two fighter squadrons with Jas 39 Gripen and a base unit. The fighter squadrons play an important role in protecting Sweden's airspace, known as incident readiness. The base unit is the largest combat unit that contains everything needed to get Gripen aircraft airborne. This includes maintenance of the aircraft, base protection, logistics, and airport operations. The wing also trains the Air Force's only ranger unit, the Air Base Rangers. Their tasks include gathering information through reconnaissance and protecting the personnel and vehicles of air combat forces.
