Ekipagekompaniet is looking for a Chief of Machine Services

Ekipagekompaniet is seeking someone who is, or has previously been, employed as a professional officer in the Armed Forces. As a colleague at Ekipagekompaniet, you will be offered a varied job in the beautiful archipelago environment of Karlskrona.

About the unit

Ekipagekompaniet is part of the Marine Base unit and is based in Karlskrona. The company supports marine units with towing, assistance, marine work, icebreaking, cargo and passenger transport, underwater and salvage work, diving work, etc. The unit is also responsible for FM ports in other locations.

Main responsibilities

As the Chief of Machine Services, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the platoon's units, such as tugboats, support boats, passenger transport boats, etc.

The tasks are very varied but mainly consist of transport, marine work, towing, assistance, etc., which places high demands on good seamanship and a strong safety mindset. You are also expected to take on the role of instructor or teacher in the technical field. The position may require you to be away from home for certain periods.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Officer or specialist officer degree
  • At least Machine Officer Exam Class 5
  • Driver's license Class B
  • Approved medical examination for seagoing personnel

Personal qualities

The tasks are varied, with sometimes short timeframes, which requires flexibility and creativity. You will work in several different group constellations where you need good collaboration skills but also be able to work independently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The Marine Base's overall task is to support the marine units with logistics such as transport, basing, surveillance, and medical care, both at home and abroad. The Marine Base is headquartered in Karlskrona but operates where there is a need, for example in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Marine Base include monitoring Sweden's 2700 km long coastline with territorial waters.
