We need you!

Are you a person with the right spark, both feet on the ground, and your heart in the right place? Do you also want to help the people of Ydre feel safe in their daily lives?

As on-call rescue service personnel, you will join a good community, becoming an important resource for society and an asset in the safety work at your job.

You will be welcomed by a friendly work environment, short decision-making paths, and a municipality where quality of life is the focus.

About the job

At the beginning of your employment as a part-time firefighter, you will be part of a reserve group. During the first period, you will undergo the necessary training to become a part-time firefighter. You will step into the regular on-call groups during instances such as sick leave, training, etc.

In the long run, the idea is for you to be part of an on-call group with duty every third week.

To meet the response time, you must live and work within six minutes of the rescue station in Österbymo, but there are also solutions that allow you to live or work within 15 kilometers of Österbymo.

The on-call groups consist of four firefighters and a team leader who are on call every third week. Additionally, you will train approximately 50 hours per year. Most of the training is scheduled during your on-call time.

The role includes participating in the training and further education offered by the employer. You will also need to complete MSB's Basic Training for On-Call Rescue Personnel (GRIB). The training lasts about 8 weeks but can be spread over a maximum of two years. You also commit to obtaining a C license (heavy truck license) during this time. The rescue service will cover the cost of the C license.

Qualifications

To be accepted as On-Call Rescue Personnel, you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid high school diploma. To be considered for the position, you need a minimum B-level driver's license. The position technically requires a C-level license, but it is possible to obtain the C license afterward, as mentioned above. You must be in good health and fit. Physical tests will be conducted before employment, and you must pass these. You need to be able to swim, not suffer from claustrophobia or acrophobia. You should have good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.

You will also need approval from your primary employer.

You are communicative, easy to collaborate with others, and confident in yourself and in meeting other people.

Willingness to cooperate, patience, and a sense of humor help us develop together.

Warmly welcome your application!

YDRE - Östergötland's secret In southern Östergötland, deep in the forests, on the border with Småland, there is a small municipality called Ydre. Many people don't even know that the place exists. But once you have visited the village, seen its enchanting nature, listened to the silence, dipped your toe in the clear waters of Sommen, breathed in the fresh air, tasted the local food, and gotten to know a Ydre resident, you know you have discovered something special - a hidden treasure. That is why the place is marketed as a whisper, in confidence, so that you can partake in the treasure. So listen closely, for when you hear the word quality of life whispered in your surroundings, you know the goal is near.
