to apply for the job
In Upplands-Bro Municipality, we are approximately 2,000 employees dedicated to providing our residents and visitors with the best possible service and experience. Here, you help build a municipality where a holistic perspective, engagement, and professionalism permeate the organization. Together, we carry out our shared societal mission.
Would you like to become part of our placement group/foster home social worker group? As a Foster Home Social Worker, you work with supporting, recruiting, and assessing foster homes, as well as following up on foster care. The role also involves administrative tasks such as economy and contracts. You will also work with other service users, such as contact persons and contact families, through recruitment, assessment, support, and follow-up of interventions.
Together with placement and child social workers, you follow up on placements to ensure the child receives good care and a warm welcome in the foster home, and that the foster home receives the support needed to provide good care. You document and conduct foster home assessments primarily according to the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's templates and write ongoing case records. You have knowledge of and follow current legislation and regulations.
Who are we looking for?
- You are a Social Worker (Socionom). Due to the qualification requirements for the position, no one without a Social Work degree will proceed in the recruitment process.
- You have a few years of experience working with public authority operations in the child and youth area. Experience with placed children and young people as well as foster care is meritorious.
- You have a valid driver's license (Category B).
- You are interested in development and finding new ways of working.
- You want to work in a unit with a feedback culture where we help each other grow and get the job done together.
What do we value highly?
- You want to contribute to continuous improvement of the operations by participating in the unit's ongoing development and quality work.
- You have a good ability to build trusting relationships and create security for foster homes while keeping the child's best interests in focus. With a strengthened focus on well-planned reunifications after placements, we see that you have the ability to motivate foster homes in this sometimes difficult process. You can structure and plan, and maintain close contact with placement social workers, foster homes, other operations, and partners.
- You have experience working with "Signs of Safety" and preferably conducting foster home assessments.
- You have a good ability to structure your own work.
- You cooperate easily, build good relationships, and are skilled at communicating and writing.
About the unit
The Child and Youth Unit employs approximately 37 people. The unit is led by a Unit Manager and three Group Managers. The unit is divided into six groups: reception, two investigation groups, young people at risk (for crime), the placement group, and the foster home social worker group. Group leaders also serve as close support in case handling.
For us, "Signs of Safety" is the fundamental approach, and we work with the templates developed by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. Network work and alliances with families are central to our way of working. We have good cohesion, a strong shared development focus, and order and clarity regarding routines and methods. In close collaboration with our outpatient care, we can offer additional interventions when needed for placed children and foster homes. Workplace environment is a priority for us, and we work systematically with health factors based on "Sunt Arbetsliv" (Healthy Work Life). We are also proud to be part of "Yrkesresan," a form to ensure competence development throughout your career.
What do we offer you?
We value close leadership that guides and supports you in daily life. We are proud of the comprehensive induction program we offer new employees, regardless of previous experience, to help you get to know the organization and culture. We offer external supervision, method supervision, and a wellness subsidy of 3,000 SEK.
Upplands-Bro Municipality has the advantages of a small municipality, including short decision-making paths and great opportunities to participate in the development of work. The starting point for our assignments is the shared workplace, where we develop operations together and create conditions for collaboration. We have systems that enable remote work in agreement with the manager and when the operations allow. The municipality actively works to increase gender equality and diversity in the workplace.
About the position:
The position begins with a 6-month probationary period, which then transitions to a permanent position. Start date is by agreement. You will take over some cases from a colleague who is on parental leave.
About the recruitment process:
You apply for the position smoothly and easily with a CV, but without a cover letter. Instead, we ask you to answer some selection questions. Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. Candidates assessed as suitable in the final phase will be invited to take an occupational psychological test. A background check via a third-party provider will be conducted on the person offered the position.
All offers of advertising and help in the recruitment process are declined. Welcome with your application!
Upplands-Bro Municipality is one of Sweden's most expansive municipalities where development is at the center. We welcome you to a workplace where the keywords in our work and approach are Holistic Perspective, Engagement, and Professionalism.
