Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. At SiS, your professional life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work within our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing change.

At our headquarters in Solna Business Park, we are approximately 500 employees, and together we work to support and develop the agency, which has around 5,000 employees in total.

Job Description

SiS is in an important development phase where financial management, analysis, and resource planning need to be strengthened and further developed. As a Controller, you work with financial management, budgeting, forecasting, follow-up, and analysis, as well as developing models, processes, and decision support tools that strengthen the agency's ability to use resources efficiently. You will primarily serve as a support to directors and institution managers. The role also includes analyzing financial data to ensure fair outcomes, good regulatory compliance, efficient resource utilization, and implementing necessary budget adjustments.

An important part of the role is to identify areas for improvement and propose adequate measures to the institutions or operations at the headquarters, and in some cases, help implement them. In the role of Controller towards our institutions, it is important to maintain the interplay between operations, budget, and financial results.

This is a role for you who want to influence how financial management works in practice. The role suits you if you thrive in an environment where you are expected to develop, change, and contribute, not just maintain.

You will be part of the agency's financial section and belong to the team that makes up the Controlling Unit. The section also includes an accounting unit with accountants and accounting assistants.

We are looking for two Controllers, where one of the roles has a special focus on property-related issues connected to analyzing costs, investments, and commitments that affect the agency's financial sustainability. Since our properties are a central component in how we can deliver quality care to our clients, you must also be able to understand and be interested in the reality and conditions of the core operations. Your expertise will contribute to us making well-founded decisions that strengthen our economy and ensure efficient resource use.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • University or college education with a focus on economics, or other education deemed relevant by SiS
  • Experience working as a Controller
  • Very good knowledge of Excel and experience working with large datasets
  • Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing

Merits:

  • Several years of experience in similar tasks within the public sector
  • Experience in producing analyses and decision support materials for management and other target groups
  • Knowledge of government accounting, appropriation control, fees, regulatory letters, and economic administrative regulations
  • Knowledge of Qlik, Hypergene, and Unit 4 Business World
  • Experience in financial follow-up and analysis, with a connection to property issues

To succeed in the role, you need to be self-reliant, meticulous, responsible, and able to organize and prioritize your work so that it is completed on time and with high quality. You work well with complex issues, have good analytical skills, and collaborate closely with your surroundings. We place great emphasis on personal suitability!

At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good cooperation.
