Position: Advisor in Everyday Economy and Consumer Law

The position to be filled is located within the Adult & Support Unit of the Individual and Family Care department. The workplace is situated in central Färjestaden with good transport links to Kalmar and other parts of Öland. Responsibilities
Through counseling, outreach work, and the implementation of needs-assessed interventions, you will contribute to increasing residents' knowledge about everyday economy, consumer law, and sustainable consumption.
In this role, you will:
- Provide advice and support in everyday economic matters, with the goal of helping individuals gain better control and balance in their household economy.
- Support individuals in economic change processes, for example through budget and debt counseling, creating payment plans and sustainable budget plans, and reviewing contracts to reduce costs.
- Assist with applications for debt adjustment (skuldsanering), appeals, and offer support throughout the entire debt adjustment period.
- Provide advice and information to the public on various consumer issues, such as information about customer rights when purchasing goods or services.
- Collaborate with other authorities, companies, and societal institutions.
- Be responsible for preventive and outreach work in the area, for example through information, lectures, social media posts, or media contact.
- The role also includes handling deceased estates (dödsbo).
Documentation is carried out in the activity systems Lifecare and Boss+.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have an adequate university education with a primary focus on social work. Additionally, basic (I) and advanced (II) education in social law and consumer law.
Many of the people you meet in your role are in vulnerable life situations, which requires a good ability to meet people in crisis. Working with change processes also requires that you have good pedagogical skills and the ability to establish professional relationships.
Furthermore, you must have a good ability to:
- Express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- Independently plan and structure the execution of tasks.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement work of the activity to strengthen the ability to create added value for the municipality's residents.
To be considered for employment in social care in Mörbylånga Municipality, the employer will request that the applicant presents an extract from the police criminal record register regarding residential homes for youth (HVB-hem).
A B-category driver's license is required.
