The Swedish Public Health Agency is now looking for an Information Architect who wants to shape future knowledge support and create robust, shared conceptual and information models. These will make it possible to effectively utilize the potential in data and technology for analysis, insights, and knowledge – all for sustainable public health work.

What will you work with?

Here, you work at the intersection of operations, information, and technology for sustainable operational development. You collaborate with experts passionate about strengthening public health and improving living conditions for the entire population. You contribute to the shift towards a data-centric architecture, in accordance with the agency's data strategy.

You will be part of the IT unit and work in close collaboration with development teams, operational experts, analysts, statisticians, information security specialists, and lawyers. You are a key figure in how we develop future public health data.

As an Information Architect at the Swedish Public Health Agency, you play a central role in:

• Creating and maintaining shared conceptual models, information models, and data standards.
• Ensuring traceability and quality in our data flows.
• Contributing to the development of evidence-based decision support, analyses, and digital services.
• Supporting our core operational areas in how information should be structured, shared, and used.
• Strengthening the agency's data-driven approach, interoperability, and information governance.
• Participating in national collaborations with regions, municipalities, healthcare providers, laboratories, other agencies, academia, research actors, and industry.

Here you have the opportunity to lead the development of the agency's information management, and contribute to several major projects aimed at improving public health and living conditions. Initially, you will spend a significant part of your time on one of the agency's major projects: RAPID (Real-time Analysis of Public Health Integrated Data) for scalable and secure real-time surveillance.

You will be an important part of the agency's architecture council and work closely with other architects and functions, such as developers, data managers, archivists, lawyers, and security specialists.

Your main tasks:

• Develop and maintain conceptual and information models within the Swedish Public Health Agency's various knowledge areas.
• Structure and model information flows, data lifecycles, and information responsibilities.
• Participate in development and change projects as an expert in information architecture.
• Contribute to requirement specification in projects concerning data, digital services, or system development.
• Ensure that the agency's data is handled according to principles of data sharing, interoperability, quality, and security.
• Support work with information governance, data catalogs, metadata, and information classification.
• Contribute to the agency's long-term architecture work, including collaboration in national initiatives.
• Visualize complex information in an understandable way, for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements for the position:

• Relevant academic education or other education deemed equivalent by the agency.
• Current experience in leading and driving information modeling and information architecture.
• Very good communication skills – you can make complex information understandable and express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Highly valued qualifications:

• Personal qualities such as good teamwork skills, responsibility, a holistic perspective, and a welcoming attitude.
• You are analytical, structured, and curious. You thrive in the enabler role – someone who creates order in complex information environments, builds a common language, and enjoys working with others.
• Knowledge of processes related to data management, data catalogs, metadata, or open data.
• Experience working in large organizations or agencies.
• Good understanding of information management, data quality, and information lifecycles.

Valued qualifications:

• Experience with interoperability or frameworks for data management, code sets, and other standards (e.g., FHIR, OMOP, OpenEHR, SNOMED CT, FAIR).
• Ability to translate operational needs into structured models and requirements.
• Experience working with public health data, statistics, or knowledge management.
• Experience from the public sector.

Qualifications that add value:

• Experience with information security (e.g., according to MSB guidelines).
• Experience with TOGAF, enterprise architecture frameworks, or data governance.

What does the unit do?

The IT Unit is responsible for ensuring the agency has a secure and accessible IT operating environment, as well as efficient support, maintenance, and modern development of IT systems. The unit is also responsible for a coordinated and cost-effective process for purchasing IT-related equipment, licenses, and consulting services.

About the employment

You will be employed as a Case Officer (Handläggare) with a placement at our office in Solna or Östersund. The employment is a permanent full-time position starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date is as soon as possible, according to agreement.

As an employee of the Swedish Public Health Agency, you may be assigned to wartime duties. Some positions are classified security-sensitive, where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. A security clearance will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

At the agency, there may be an opportunity to agree on remote work up to 40 percent of your working hours.
