The Technical Division operates its own activities and consists of five business areas: Nyköping Vatten, Municipal Properties, Waste Management, Roads/Parks/Harbor, and Meal Service. These are supported by an economics department, a project department, and an administrative staff. Approximately 400 employees work in the division, which has an annual turnover of over 1 billion SEK and an investment budget of 600 million SEK in 2024. Our clients are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environment and Urban Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

Nyköping Vatten is responsible for all water and wastewater operations within Nyköping Municipality, which includes the operation, maintenance, and new construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and pipe networks. The operations include 7 water treatment plants, 3 water towers, 12 wastewater treatment plants, 90 wastewater pumping stations, a pipe network of approximately 900 km, and its own water laboratory.

Job Responsibilities

As a Subscriber Engineer, you are responsible for issues related to the connection of properties to the municipal water and wastewater facility. You process connection cases, calculate facility fees, and prepare documentation for customer contracts. The role also involves consulting on cases, answering customer inquiries, and handling water and wastewater-related administrative tasks.

The position involves developing in-depth competence in water and wastewater tariffs, water and wastewater law, and ABVA (KFVA).

In the role, you have extensive contacts and ongoing dialogue with property owners, contractors, and developers. You also work in close collaboration with other units at Nyköping Vatten as well as other functions within the municipality. The work involves technical, legal, and economic issues within the water and wastewater sector. This is a varied position where you are continuously faced with new issues and given the opportunity to develop in your role.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• You have a relevant academic education or equivalent professional experience in the water and wastewater sector.
• Experience working in water and wastewater, urban planning, or technical administration.
• You have some legal competence and can read, understand, and apply legal texts.
• Good computer skills and very good Swedish in speech and writing.
• Category B driver's license.

Meritorious:

Experience with:

• Water and wastewater tariffs and fee calculations.
• Future, VAbanken, or similar systems.
• ABVA (KFVA) and the Water and Wastewater Services Act.
