Your upcoming role

As a Process Engineer with a development focus in wastewater treatment, you will work on developing, optimizing, and future-proofing our treatment processes. You will support the department with both strategic and operational issues related to our wastewater treatment plants. You play a central role in ensuring that we meet the discharge conditions in our environmental permits by being a key support in process-related matters, but also serve as an important resource in our work to prepare for future stricter environmental requirements. In this role, you combine deep process technical competence with a more long-term development perspective. You drive plant-related investigations, but also actively participate in development and investment projects related to our treatment processes. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the operations organization, process engineers, project managers, investigators, strategists, research leaders, authorities, and external partners.

As an experienced Process Engineer with a development focus, your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Lead plant-related process investigations, pilot tests, and development projects.
• Contribute process technical expertise in investment and reconstruction projects from preliminary studies to implementation.
• Together with VA SYD's strategists and research leaders, evaluate new technology and new working methods for future wastewater treatment.
• Analyze process data and translate results into concrete improvement measures.
• Participate in the work to meet requirements in both current and future environmental permits.
• Act as a specialist support to the operations and maintenance organization.

You will join the Process and Development unit, where we bring together specialist competence in process technology to develop working methods and meet current and future demands on our wastewater treatment plants. The process engineers work together to develop our common working methods on the Production Department. The unit currently has 11 process engineers distributed between Sjölunda in Malmö, Klagshamn, Eslöv, Lund, and Svedala. The role of experienced Process Engineer with a development focus is new, which means there is an opportunity to help shape the position.

The role will be located at one of our wastewater treatment plants in Lund, Eslöv, or Klagshamn, but the role will involve work at all of our wastewater treatment plants.

The Process and Development unit is part of the Production Department, which consists of approximately 130 employees and is responsible for our production facilities for wastewater treatment and biogas production.

Therefore, your good ability to cooperate and communicate is very valuable. As an experienced process engineer, you are also driven, analytical, and methodical with a good ability to see opportunities.

Your experience

To succeed in this role, it is necessary that you have:

• A Master of Science degree with a focus on ecosystem technology, environmental technology, or similar.
• At least 5 years of experience within the water and wastewater sector, with good knowledge of wastewater treatment, biogas production, and sludge management.
• A valid driver's license (Category B).

Experience of working with investigation or implementation projects is meritorious.
