E.ON in Sweden is part of the international energy group E.ON SE, headquartered in Essen, Germany. Within the group, around 70,000 people work in 17 countries. Around 2,100 dedicated employees work across Sweden. Our Nordic headquarters is located in Malmö. In Sweden, we deliver electricity, heating, and smart energy solutions to just over one million households and businesses. E.ON's role is to take responsibility and drive development forward, so that more people can transition. With our investments and our customers' willingness to contribute, we work to continue electrifying society and meeting future energy needs.

About Us

The Corporate Security department at E.ON serves as a reliable partner for the company's safety and success. With experienced team members, we act as a service function for all business units within the organization, ensuring that security aspects are integrated into operational areas. We work especially, but not exclusively, in the areas of security protection, operational security, civil preparedness (crisis and war), and continuity management.

Your Role

In the role of Security Specialist with a focus on preparedness, you will work with a special emphasis on civil defense while also supporting the team with experience and breadth in the department's other disciplines. The work is based on current legislation, authority requirements, and industry-specific regulations. Together with colleagues and business representatives, you lead, plan, and drive the development of E.ON's work in the area of civil preparedness.

Your daily work consists largely of developing and managing processes, governance, and working methods, as well as translating requirements into practical solutions that strengthen the organization's resilience. The role involves both strategic and operational issues in a changing business environment where the external situation, threat landscape, and regulatory requirements are constantly evolving.

In addition to regular duties, you will participate in cross-functional projects, authority dialogues, and initiatives to ensure that security and preparedness requirements are handled and considered. The role may eventually include service as an Official in Preparedness (TiB).

Your Experience

We are looking for you who have post-secondary education in security, political science, or another relevant area that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working in preparedness, security, security protection, crisis preparedness, continuity management, civil defense, and/or related areas. Furthermore, you have experience driving processes and work individually, as well as translating requirements from legislation, authorities, or other external stakeholders into concrete working methods in everyday life.

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

  • Electricity preparedness or other preparedness work within other vital societal functions
  • Understanding and knowledge of signal security
  • Understanding and knowledge of risk and vulnerability analyses

To succeed in the role of Security Specialist, a self-initiated and structured working approach and a strong sense of responsibility are valued. The role involves many contact surfaces, making the ability to build relationships and networks important, both internally and externally. Good analytical skills and an interest in delving into new issues are also valuable traits. The role suits those who thrive in changing environments and feel comfortable navigating situations where not all answers are available in advance.

In the role, the ability to visualize complex information, produce clear decision support materials, and adapt communication to the recipient and situation is of great importance. It is particularly valuable to combine a strategic perspective with pragmatic implementation. Therefore, we appreciate that you are responsible and unpretentious, with a strong focus on quality, as well as having the ability to build trust by fulfilling commitments and meeting the business with a high degree of service.

What is it like working here?

Our team is led by Dan Ekberg, who sees the person and the group behind the delivery. He leads through trust and has a trust-based leadership style that gives ample room for individual freedom and self-leadership, while goals and direction remain guiding.

At E.ON, we actively work with inclusion – it is crucial for driving the energy transition forward. We want you to feel welcome! We strive to create a safe working environment with meaningful tasks and good opportunities for development. We continue to challenge ourselves to create a welcoming workplace where we hope you will thrive.

You are warmly welcome to apply and join us on the path to a sustainable society! The last day for applications is July 31, 2026.

As we work with vital societal functions, the employment is security classified, which means a security check will be conducted prior to employment.
