Technical surveillance refers to the use of security products that replace or complement manual guarding. Common subsystems that create technical surveillance systems include:

  • Intrusion alarms
  • Access control systems
  • Video surveillance systems
  • IT security systems

About the Position

As an alarm technician in the Swedish Armed Forces and FMTIS, you will be a vital part of an agency experiencing strong growth. About the Operations

FMTIS has four units that perform operation and maintenance of the Swedish Armed Forces' command and control systems. Implementation Unit North is one of them. The unit has a geographical spread that largely covers Norrland and is staffed with both military and civilian personnel. The placement will be at Implementation Unit North, and the workplace is Härnösand. The work is primarily located in Västernorrland County, but work may also take place in other parts of the country or abroad.

Main Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities involve operational and maintenance measures on parts of the Swedish Armed Forces' technical surveillance infrastructure. By operation and maintenance, we primarily mean commissioning, preventive (inspections/revisions), and corrective maintenance of technical surveillance systems, as well as ongoing system changes. The area primarily covers alarm, access control, and CCTV systems with associated IT infrastructure (servers, clients, switches, routers, firewalls, etc.). The work requires careful ongoing registration, updating, and documentation in support systems. Furthermore, it includes handling and answering questions within the area, providing technical support to the organization and decision-makers. You will collaborate with various units and suppliers and participate in temporarily organized working groups or projects (e.g., during new installations).

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Upper secondary education with an electrical or teletechnical focus, or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Experience in service and maintenance of technical surveillance systems, or equivalent experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Good ability to communicate in speech and writing (Swedish and English).
  • Driver's license, class B.

Merits

  • Experience in documentation of teletechnical facilities and/or AutoCAD.
  • Experience working with mechanical and electromechanical locks.
  • Held electrical safety certification (el-behörighet).
  • Knowledge of UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply).
  • Good knowledge of network technology and Windows-based systems.
  • Completed basic military training.
  • Familiarity with Swedish Armed Forces' equipment/gear.
  • The position requires good physical fitness and a healthy attitude towards your health.
  • BE and/or C driver's license.
