Do you want meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives? Welcome to a municipality that is far from mediocre!
The Technical and Property Administration is responsible for the municipality's premises, properties, and technical infrastructure – from planning new construction projects to operation, maintenance, and development. We work with water and sewage, facility maintenance, land services, transport, and vehicle services. Our goal is to build and manage sustainably and in a climate-smart way to ensure a safe and functional everyday life for the residents of Botkyrka. We are approximately 300 employees who, in our various roles, work on solutions based on the citizen's needs and the municipality's common goals.
The Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Project Manager who wants to drive and develop socially important property projects – from early stages to completed construction.
As a Project Manager, you are part of the project operations within the Technical and Property Administration in Botkyrka Municipality. In this role, you work with complex construction projects and contribute technical expertise already during the detailed planning phase to ensure long-term sustainable solutions from an operational and maintenance perspective.
You lead projects through the entire process – from investigations and preliminary studies to design, procurement, implementation, and handover. The work involves coordinating various stakeholders, monitoring project goals, and ensuring that the work is carried out according to applicable laws, requirements, and decided frameworks. The assignment also includes contributing to the development of methods and processes within the project operations.
Your main responsibilities:
- Lead projects from early investigations and preliminary studies to completion and handover.
- Plan and lead construction projects within new production, renovation, and major maintenance.
- Monitor project economics, schedules, and quality.
- Prepare schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
- Be responsible for occupational health and safety work and conduct risk analyses.
- Procure contractors and consultants and order services in accordance with the Public Procurement Act.
- Prepare decision materials, service statements, and project documentation.
In this role, you have overall responsibility for your projects and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders. You report to the Unit Manager and contribute to developing methods within the project operations.
What We Offer
You will become part of an established project operation where approximately 20 employees with different competencies collaborate on complex and socially important projects. There is close cooperation among colleagues, where experience sharing and joint responsibility contribute to stable deliveries. The operation is facing continued development with a focus on structure, quality, and long-term sustainability in projects.
With us, you have the opportunity to develop in your professional role through varied projects and continuous competence development. We offer health and wellness benefits and the possibility of hybrid work. You work in an environment where your assignment contributes to concrete social benefit for the residents of Botkyrka.
You Who Apply
You have an education in construction, property, or another technical direction. You have several years of experience working as a project manager in construction projects where you have had overall responsibility and driven projects in various stages.
Other requirements for the position:
- Experience in leading projects in early stages, for example through investigations and preliminary studies.
- Experience in leading construction projects where you have been responsible for budget, schedule, quality, and follow-up.
- Experience with the detailed planning process and building permit process, as well as associated documentation requirements.
- Experience in conducting procurements according to the Public Procurement Act and applying standard contracts within the construction sector.
- Experience in working according to the Planning and Building Act in the implementation of projects.
- Experience in coordinating several stakeholders, such as contractors, consultants, and internal functions.
- Experience in preparing decision materials, service statements, or other project documentation in Swedish.
- Experience working with digital tools for documentation, planning, and follow-up.
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
Merits:
- Experience working with projects in the public sector.
- Experience working in municipal operations.
- Experience working in a client role where you have procured, managed, and followed up on contracts.
As a Project Manager, you are structured and result-oriented in your approach. You plan, prioritize, and drive your projects forward with a focus on achieving set goals within time, cost, and quality. You monitor the work continuously and ensure that the project is carried out according to agreement.
You are collaborative and confident in your role, which is evident in how you lead projects with several involved stakeholders. You create trusting relationships and maintain clear dialogue with operations, authorities, contractors, consultants, and other partners.
