Wanted: An Occupational Therapist has gone missing!

We are looking for someone who:

✔️ Can think creatively when daily life becomes complicated.

✔️ Is not afraid to meet patients at home in their reality.

✔️ Thrives just as well in team discussions as behind the wheel on the way to the next home visit.

✔️ Knows that an interpreter can sometimes be the most important colleague in the room.

✔️ Has a valid driver’s license (Class B) and a desire to make a difference.

Description

You are a licensed occupational therapist. Perhaps you have already worked with neurology and know how meaningful it is to help people find new paths when life takes an unexpected turn. This is a merit – but most importantly, you are curious, engaged, and want to develop together with us.

The Scene of the Crime

A neuro team where collaboration is real. Here we share knowledge, laugh together, and help each other when needed. We don’t believe in sitting at a desk all day long – with us, you meet people where life happens: at home, in the local environment, and in everyday life.

We offer a workplace with highly competent, positive, and driven colleagues who together create the conditions to improve our patients' quality of life. All your future team colleagues have many years of experience working in a neuro team.

Rehab Västra comprises four clinics in Västerort: Bromma, Kista, Spånga, and Ekerö. Our mission is primary care rehabilitation within Vårdvalet, which involves clinic work, home visits, assistive device fittings, and team-based home rehabilitation.

Dietitians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and receptionists work in the practice. Our clinic in Spånga also has an additional assignment to run a neuro team with speech therapists, counselors, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. The assignment is to offer rehabilitation for people who have recently suffered a stroke as well as people with other acquired neurological injuries or diseases. The team's catchment area is all of Västerort.

Job Responsibilities:

With us, you will work in a team with physiotherapists, speech therapists, and counselors. Rehabilitation takes place primarily in the patient's home and their immediate environment, but also at the clinic for individual treatment and/or in groups.

The target group is patients who are newly or re-admitted with stroke, as well as patients with other acquired brain injuries or neurological diseases investigated within the neurology clinic's inpatient or outpatient care. The interventions are carried out in close cooperation with the patient's relatives and other healthcare providers. The job responsibilities include, in addition to assessment and treatment, also the fitting of assistive devices.

Employment Type:

Permanent position. Full-time 100%. Probationary period may apply.

Personal Qualities

We place great emphasis on personal suitability, which means that you:

  • Enjoy working in a team and find it easy to collaborate across professional boundaries
  • Are responsible and combine independent work with good collaboration skills
  • Are flexible and have good communication skills
  • Are sensitive, stress-resistant, and service-oriented
  • Have a positive attitude towards development and renewal of work

When working in the patient's home, you must be able to cope with environments with pets/fur animals and not be sensitive to smoke odor.

Other Information:

If you are or have previously been employed by Region Stockholm, we will take internal references from your current or former manager, should you become a candidate for employment.

Selection takes place continuously during the advertising period, and interviews may begin before the last application date has passed, which is why we would appreciate it if you submitted your application today.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be taken for internal reassignment, according to current regulations.

For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):

- Register control is applied before a decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register control upon employment.

- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.

- In addition to Swedish professional qualification, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.

Stockholm County Council (SLSO) is one of Sweden's largest healthcare providers with 11,600 employees. We offer healthcare under the auspices of Region Stockholm within psychiatry, primary care, geriatrics, ASIH, near-acute care, somatic specialist care, habilitation and health, as well as assistive devices. In collaboration with Karolinska Institutet, we conduct research, education, and development. Read more about SLSO here.
