Medical Physics and Technology (MFT) seeks Medical Technology Engineer – Clinical Physiology

Medical Physics and Technology (MFT), Mälarsjukhuset, Eskilstuna

We are looking for an engaged and competent Medical Technology Engineer with a focus on Clinical Physiology. As part of our team, you will work to ensure that our medical technology equipment and systems function optimally to support the needs of the operations. The position is located at Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna.

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will work primarily within the technical area of Clinical Physiology, in close collaboration with the Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine, as well as colleagues within MFT. The content of the work may be adapted based on your previous experience and areas of interest.

The area of Clinical Physiology includes equipment and systems for measuring and assessing the body's functions – for example, the heart, lungs, blood vessels, and nervous system. Examples of equipment in this area include ultrasound devices, ECGs, spirometers, etc. The equipment is usually closely linked to software, and you will have an important role in the management of medical technology software. You will work in close collaboration with IT specialists, administration managers, and healthcare staff to ensure that our equipment and systems meet both technical and regulatory requirements. You are an important part of the team and support healthcare operations with technical competence and service.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for maintenance, repair, configuration, and calibration of medical technology equipment and systems, through own execution and contact with suppliers.
  • Procurement and introduction of new medical technology equipment and systems in the form of tenders, installations, upgrades, etc.
  • Documentation and deviation management according to current regulations and routines.
  • Collaboration with healthcare staff to support the use of medical technology equipment and systems and ensure correct usage.
  • Participation in the work to continuously develop our routines and processes.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a University Engineer (Civilingenjör) or Higher Education Engineer (Högskoleingenjör) with a focus on Medical Technology, preferably with a few years of professional experience in medical technology. It is highly meritorious if this experience lies within the area of Clinical Physiology. To succeed in the role, we see that you have good IT skills and an understanding of how medical technology systems interact with IT infrastructure.

We would like you to have:

  • Basic knowledge of network technology, database management, and system integration.
  • Understanding of IT security, including risk management and security classification of systems.
  • Experience of or knowledge about GDPR, information security, and impact assessments according to the Data Protection Regulation.

Since travel may occur in the position, a B-driver's license is required.

Permanent employment with start date as agreed. Probationary period may apply. For this position, background and suitability checks will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
