The Workplace

The Community Development Administration has a business with a wide scope, including the units of streets/parks, water and sewer, planning and building, property, catering, as well as local maintenance and associated administrative services.

The Street and Park Unit is responsible for the operation and maintenance of streets, park areas, leisure facilities, forests in and outside urban areas, and is also responsible for the water and sewer pipe network. The unit also maintains playground equipment, both in public places and at the municipality's schools and preschools. The staff consists of 10 people, distributed across three different work areas. During the high season, the staff increases by approximately 3 people.

Job Responsibilities

You will work in an independent team responsible for the operation of the municipality's park areas, schools, and sports fields. This involves both emergency repairs, but also more long-term maintenance and renewal work. Since the organization is relatively small, supporting the other parts within street and park operations will also be part of the role as needed. On-call duty for winter road maintenance is included.

Qualifications

You should have some form of education in forestry and green space management, or land and construction, or have acquired equivalent professional knowledge according to the job responsibilities below.

Professional knowledge in:

• Machine operation regarding loaders, tractors, lawn mowers, etc.
• Construction work regarding streets, park areas, playgrounds, etc.
• Chainsaw license and experience in forestry work are meritorious

A requirement, as the activity takes place in different parts of the municipality, is a valid B-driver's license. It is also desirable with some form of qualification for heavier vehicles. The position also involves cooperation with many people, which requires that you have good communication skills and a service mindset. If you have additional competence related to our operations, this is of course meritorious.

Most of the job takes place outdoors, and good general fitness is a prerequisite.
