Do you want to make a real difference for the industry and Northern Sweden?
Our region is one of the most expansive in the country. At the same time, pressure on the industry is increasing. Companies need to transition to more sustainable production solutions, find the right competence, and build networks for the future. This is where IUC Norr plays a crucial role.
We drive change by turning insights into concrete actions. With a deep understanding of industrial companies' needs and using the regions' strategies and development plans as guiding tools, we can stay ahead and offer the right interventions. This foresight benefits both the companies and society as a whole.
We are now looking for a Project Manager who wants to turn this into concrete projects together with the industry and our partners.
About the Role
Based on identified needs in the industry, we have initiated several new project applications and are currently awaiting decisions. This creates good opportunities to, in this role, help translate new initiatives into concrete actions together with companies and partners.
As a Project Manager here, you work in close collaboration with industrial companies, public actors, and academia. You lead projects that strengthen companies' competitiveness and development capacity.
The projects always stem from real needs; we do not guess but use analysis, dialogue, and collaboration with our networks to identify what is needed here and now, and moving forward.
The interventions span our four focus areas: Smart Industry, Competence Supply, Sustainable Transition, and Insight-Driven Industrial Development.
This could, for example, involve initiatives to strengthen companies' work with digitalization and data-driven methods, contribute to the right competence and competence development, strengthen companies' preparedness and resilience, and work insight-based with analyses of needs and value flows. The role specifically includes projects within sustainable transition, focusing on resource efficiency, energy efficiency, circular business models, and new collaborations that strengthen both companies' competitiveness and their contribution to a more sustainable business life.
Your Responsibilities
Our way of working is based on needs analysis and close dialogue with companies, which means the projects always stem from real needs in the industry. The role includes:
- planning, executing, and following up on projects
- driving activities such as workshops, networks, and meetings
- working closely with companies and acting as a sounding board in their development
- identifying needs and linking them to the right interventions and funding
- building relationships, collaborating, and co-creating with public actors
- contributing to the development of new project ideas and applications
- building and developing relationships and collaborations between companies, the public sector, and academia
Travel is part of the position, primarily within Norrbotten and Västerbotten, but other travel may also occur.
We are looking for someone who is
- structured and gets things done
- solution-oriented and thrives in change
- relationship-building
You take ideas from thought to implementation. You create structure, prioritize, and drive the work forward – even when conditions change or are not entirely clear from the start. You are comfortable in an environment where much is in motion. You see opportunities, adapt, and find ways forward together with others. You build trust with companies, colleagues, and partners. You enjoy dialogue and are good at getting people to work towards the same goal.
You likely have:
- relevant higher education or university degree
- experience in project management or development work
- experience with the conditions and challenges of the industry
- good ability to plan and drive work forward
- good communication skills in Swedish and English
It is meritorious if you have experience in industrial operations or production development, innovation or development projects, and/or regionally, nationally, or EU-funded work.
Why you should work with us
Here, you work in the middle of industrial development in Northern Sweden. You become part of a context where we, together with companies and partners, make things happen.
We offer:
- a job where you contribute to the development of the industry and the region
- a strong network of companies, experts, and collaboration partners
- projects with a clear link to real needs and future challenges
- great opportunities for responsibility and personal development
- a collaborative environment where we learn from each other
Our values: forward-looking, credible, and relationship-building.
