Company Description
Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and approximately 300 dams in the Nordic region. We have around 580 employees in Sweden and Finland, with our headquarters in Luleå. Vattenfall's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart society, where we play a crucial role as an enabler for future sustainable energy systems. Our production accounts for approximately 25% of Sweden's total electricity demand. To deliver high availability in our production, we must constantly challenge ourselves, develop our ways of working, and leverage digital opportunities. You will become a key part of this effort!
About the Role
Do you want to develop and manage IT/OT solutions that are critical to Sweden's energy supply?
Vattenfall Vattenkraft is now looking for System Engineers to join our team for business and process-oriented IT/OT environments. As a System Engineer, you will primarily work with Vattenfall Vattenkraft's process-oriented IT/OT infrastructure. This often means working "hands-on" with both hardware and software.
The work involves a distributed IT environment with a wide geographical spread. We often work remotely and sometimes guide technicians to perform on-site actions. This ranges from troubleshooting and changes in existing environments to building and configuring new solutions.
IT security is a central part of everything we do, and we are looking for someone with a high level of security awareness and a curiosity to stay at the forefront of technology. Does this sound interesting? Welcome to a tight-knit team where we work closely together in a helpful and open work environment.
Requirements
For the position of System Engineer within IT/OT infrastructure, we see that you have:
- Several years of experience working with the operation and maintenance of IT infrastructure
- Post-secondary education in IT or equivalent experience and training.
You have experience and specialist knowledge in two or more of the following areas:
- Server operations - storage solutions and backup
- Operating systems - Linux, Windows Server
- Directory services - LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory
- Virtualization platforms - e.g., VMware, KVM
- Networking - switches, routers, firewalls
- System monitoring - Splunk, Nessus, Grafana, Nagios, or similar
- IT security - PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), authentication, encryption.
Our IT/OT systems are often part of so-called Industrial Control Systems (ICS), where the systems both control and monitor facilities. Experience working in environments with industrial IT systems is therefore advantageous.
We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in technology and are a helpful problem solver. You will contribute to the group with broad experience and new ideas. The ability to work both independently and in a team is important; you will have several collaborations, primarily within our company.
You speak and write Swedish and English. After the introduction period, being on-call may be part of the role. Travel is required, and you must have a valid driver's license (Category B).
