Are you ready for the future? So are we – and now we are looking for you! We are looking for you with a combination of operational understanding within social services and experience and interest in digitalization and change work.

Within the Department of Work and Welfare in Kristianstad, we are facing an exciting journey of change. Our vision is clear: One department – ready for the future!

We are developing our organization to meet future needs and create even better conditions for our citizens. From April 2026, we will work in a new organization – with a focus on modern, sustainable, and legally secure welfare.

We are now looking for more employees who want to be part of our journey of change. Are you driven, curious, and want to contribute to meaningful work? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

Your role with us

Do you want to help shape the future social services by coordinating and driving digitalization work? We are looking for an experienced and engaged developer with broad competence in digitalization – and with a strong interest in our operations, target groups, and societal mission.

With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an important journey of change where digitalization and AI play a central role in how we meet citizens' needs – today and in the future. As a developer within the Department of Work and Welfare, you will work together with your colleagues on development and quality work to strengthen the operations' ability to fulfill their mission towards citizens. An important part of your task is to support and develop the department's systematic quality work and contribute to the operations' improvement work, where increased digitalization also plays an important part. You work closely with both operations and the department's other support functions, and serve as an important support in turning needs into concrete improvements.

In connection with the transition to the new Social Services Act, we are in an intensive development phase. Digitalization and AI are crucial tools in this change. We are therefore looking for a developer who will work together with developer colleagues, but with a special focus and responsibility for coordinating and driving the department's digitalization work. You will lead and develop digital processes. In this work, you need to contribute with both a strategic perspective and operational implementation, and you will collaborate closely with your developer colleagues, system administrators, the municipality's digitalization department, other support functions, and the department's operations.

Your tasks will include, among other things, identifying areas for development and improvement, and leading or participating in development and digitalization projects. You will also lead the work of designing and implementing new work processes based on this, and be responsible for environmental scanning within digitalization, welfare technology, and automation.

Who are we looking for?

You who apply have one of the following educations:

  • University/college with a degree in social sciences, for example, social worker
  • University/college with a degree in IT/digitalization/system science/informatics
  • University/college with another degree and experience that the employer considers equivalent

We want you to have:

  • Experience in operational development and process work
  • Experience in driving change or development projects
  • Good ability to map, analyze, and document work processes
  • Good digital competence and understanding of operational systems

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Education in operational development, digitalization, change management, process mapping, and project management.
  • Good knowledge of the social services' mission and the department's target groups
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the laws governing the department's work
  • Experience in working with quality and development issues
  • Knowledge of social services' processes and regulations
  • Experience in producing, processing, and presenting data and statistics

We want you to have good communication skills and be good at adapting your message to different target groups, which requires that you have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.

To succeed in the role, you are interested in societal issues and welfare development and thrive in a role where you get to combine strategy with practical work. As a person, you are development-oriented, driven, curious, creative, and quick to take initiative. The role also requires that you are structured, clear, and action-oriented. You are good at creating and maintaining good relationships. You have a good ability to see the big picture and have good analytical skills. You contribute to good collaboration by having an open and solution-focused approach.
