Care Assistant for Home Care North, Tierp

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to work in home care and help create security, participation, and quality of life for our elderly. As a care assistant for home care north, you play a key role in providing care and support to our users in their own homes. Thanks to your work, the user can maintain their living habits and maintain a high quality of life in their home environment.

Tasks may include:

  • Personal care
  • Assistance with meals
  • Cleaning
  • Shopping
  • Medication administration according to delegation from the responsible nurse

You are responsible for creating implementation plans for the users you have permanent care contact for, and ensuring that care interventions are carried out (e.g., personal care, social activities, home support, medical interventions on delegation). You continuously evaluate and report on the interventions. Documentation via digital tools is also part of the daily work.

You will become part of a tight-knit team where we collaborate closely, both with colleagues and with nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and the unit manager. You will work on a day/evening schedule arranged on a rolling 6-week cycle with every other weekend off. You will use a car and bicycle as means of transport.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Professional Certificate: Care Assistant (certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate from your current/most recent employer regarding permanent employment as a care assistant).
  • Language: Good knowledge of Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension.
  • Computer Skills: Good computer literacy.
  • Cycling: Competent cyclist.
  • Driver's License: Category B driver's license is desirable but not mandatory. Driving experience is required.
  • Personal Attributes: Ability to work with other people; listening, showing empathy, and respect. You are unpretentious and recognize and reward others' contributions.

Criminal Record Check

It is of utmost importance that users and clients in healthcare and social care operations feel secure in the care provided by the municipality. Therefore, you must present an extract from the police's criminal record register before an employment offer is made.

The processing time for an extract is approximately three weeks, and you order it yourself via the police's website. We recommend ordering the extract at the same time as you submit your application so that everything is ready if you proceed in the recruitment process. If you already have an extract, it must not be older than one year. The form used for this is called "Control of own details in the criminal record register (442.3)".

Note: An extract from the criminal record register is required for work in activities other than school or preschool.

Employment Conditions

  • Employment Type: Permanent position.
  • Start Date: 2026-06-01.
  • Working Hours: According to schedule (day/evening, rolling 6 weeks, every other weekend off).
