Who we are looking for

We are looking for you who look forward to meeting people every day and who have the ability to see issues and challenges from the resident's and business owner's perspective.

As a Municipal Guide, you are an important contact into the municipality and help people find their way, get answers to their questions, and move forward in their cases.

We are a small team consisting of three Municipal Guides. With us, collaboration, trust, and psychological safety are important – we help each other, share knowledge, and together create a work environment where there is room to ask questions, think new thoughts, and develop in the role.

The work is organized in different work blocks where we rotate between tasks and areas of responsibility during the day. In addition to municipal guidance, we also work with registrar tasks and some administrative assignments for the municipality's operations.

Job Responsibilities

In the role, you work daily with:

  • providing information, service, and guidance within all municipal operations
  • handling questions and cases via phone, email, e-services, and visits at the reception
  • collaborating with colleagues, case handlers, and other operations within the municipality

The work involves meeting people while you search for information and work in several different systems. Therefore, you need to be comfortable switching between different tasks and be able to absorb and convey information clearly. You also need to be able to determine which information is important and ensure that questions and cases end up in the right place in the organization.

The municipality is continuously working on developing and digitizing its working methods. Therefore, it is important that you are positive towards digital development and want to contribute to this work.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have:

  • a high school education, preferably with a focus on administration, social sciences, or service
  • experience in treating people professionally and calmly, even in stressful or conflict-ridden situations
  • good communication skills and very good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing
  • good conversation skills on the phone and the ability to adapt information to the recipient
  • good experience working in various operational systems and in Microsoft 365
  • experience in searching for and handling information in different channels
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as conducting conversations, searching for information, and documenting in different systems

It is meritorious if you have:

  • post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • experience in similar service professions
  • experience in municipal operations and understanding of the municipality's mission

We place great emphasis on personal qualities and suitability for the role. Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period.

Job Details and Conditions

The position is 75%, with the possibility of increased working hours based on the needs of the operations.

Employment type: Permanent.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-01 Or by agreement.

As part of our health promotion work, we offer a wellness allowance. Smoke-free working hours apply. There is also the possibility of both salary and holiday salary exchange according to the current agreement. As part of the Family Helsingborg, we collaborate with other municipalities in the region for competence development and experience sharing.
