Psychologist at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic, Lycksele

Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equal welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic (BUP) is a county clinic with outpatient units in Umeå, Lycksele, and Skellefteå. The clinic also includes the BUP care ward in Umeå. BUP Västerbotten is a University Specialized Healthcare Unit (USVE) with close collaboration with universities and research. Within the clinic, we work in cross-professional teams and in close collaboration with the patient's family and other networks.

The outpatient unit in Lycksele is temporarily located at Lycksele Hospital while waiting for a complete renovation of the existing premises, which will be adapted to the needs of the operations upon move-in.

A growing and stable unit

In recent years, the outpatient unit in Lycksele has expanded. We now have three permanent physicians contributing to continuity. The workspace for nurses and counselors has been expanded, and we have access to an occupational therapist and a dietitian. We are also in the process of recruiting our own physiotherapist. Several medical secretaries work here, serving as the hub of our operations. Currently, there are two psychologist positions at the unit, along with an established collaboration with the county-level psychology group.

Your profile

We would like you to have an interest in research, development work, and evidence-based practice. You are communicative, structured, and have good collaboration skills. As a psychologist with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better. The psychologist role involves independently and in a team working with the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents requiring specialized child psychiatric care.

In your work, you meet and treat children and adolescents with more severe psychiatric conditions. You work with evidence-based methods based on current guidelines, planning, implementing, and evaluating your treatment interventions independently. You participate in teamwork and collaboration with colleagues as needed. The work also involves consulting and collaborating with schools, preschools, social services, and other clinical departments within healthcare to view the patient from a holistic perspective.

As we are a county clinic, travel to other units may occur.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have experience working with children and adolescents as well as experience in psychiatric care. Experience with assessment, treatment, and investigations is advantageous. You have an interest in working in a structured and evidence-based manner. You are a secure and structured person with a professional attitude, responsible, and adaptable. Since we work extensively in teams, we look for someone who enjoys collaborating and being there for both colleagues and patients.

What we offer

We have clear goals that we achieve by inspiring each other to creative improvement work. Alongside this, we focus on creating a health-promoting work environment. We offer professional meetings and external method supervision.
