The Heart Centre in Umeå aims to provide the best care for heart patients in northern Sweden. We offer highly specialized cardiac care and have overall responsibility for the county's patients.

The Heart Centre includes the Cardiology Clinic, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, PCI Lab, Arrhythmia Unit, Clinical Physiology, and the Centre for Cardiovascular Genetics. We investigate, treat, and operate on patients from the entire northern region with diseases of the heart, lungs, and coronary arteries. By collaborating across boundaries, having efficient care chains, working with continuous improvement, and employing competent staff, we can offer care of very high quality. In close collaboration with the university, we conduct research, development, and education. We have approximately 400 employees at the Heart Centre.

At Thoracic Surgery, we have about 35 employees, including anesthesia nurses, operating room nurses, assistant nurses, and perfusionists. Annually, we perform a total of over 1,100 procedures distributed across our four operating rooms.

Our specialty treats patients with conditions such as heart valve disease, coronary artery disease, and lung diseases. As the only thoracic surgical center in Norrland, we also offer circulatory support for heart and/or lung failure in the form of ECMO treatment, and we have launched a high-quality transport service for these patients.

Here, you will have the opportunity to work and develop in an activity whose primary goal is to offer high-quality thoracic surgery to patients in Norrland. Through collaboration across professional boundaries, we have created an efficient and cohesive care chain, where our staff are offered opportunities to develop and deepen their expertise within their profession through continuous training initiatives.

We are now looking for an anesthesia nurse who wants to work with us at Thoracic Surgery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an anesthesia nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that make people feel safe.

Working as an anesthesia nurse with us means working in a team in the operating room, with the patient in focus. Together with the operating room nurse, you will be responsible for the perioperative care of the patient. Our work is characterized by mutual respect, where all professions collaborate to provide the patient with the best possible treatment and care.

As an anesthesia nurse with us, you also work at the Heart Centre's Arrhythmia Unit. Here, arrhythmological procedures with anesthesia support are performed in two rooms. Here, you collaborate with biomedical analysts, nurses, assistant nurses, arrhythmologists, and thoracic anesthesiologists.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with specialist education in anesthesia.

To thrive in the role of anesthesia nurse with us, we are looking for someone who has the ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other professional groups. You should also be flexible, enjoy working at a high pace, and have a positive attitude towards your work.
