5 positions available – Support Pedagogs for Västerås City

Here, your curiosity becomes a strength. By getting to know our participants and understanding their needs, you contribute to developing working methods that create good prerequisites for success.

We are now looking for five support pedagogs who want to combine close work with participants with a clear mandate to develop the operations' needs and quality. Two positions are located at Viksäng, two at Stallhagen, and one position at one of our other departments within daily activities.

Your responsibilities

You play a key role in developing and strengthening the quality of daily activities. You work closely with participants, colleagues, and the department manager, contributing to the operation being conducted based on proven methods, current legislation, and the individual's needs.

The assignment is varied and consists of both operational and administrative tasks. Part of your working time is spent close to the participants to learn about their needs, create participation, and see which working methods work best. You then use this knowledge in quality work, where you, among other things, review and develop social documentation, work with implementation plans, produce materials, and map the participants' needs.

You are a support for your colleagues in daily work and provide guidance on pedagogical issues, documentation, and working methods. Together with the department manager, you identify areas for development and drive quality work forward. In this role, you inspire, coach, and create prerequisites for a common working approach.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a support pedagog or have other relevant post-secondary education with at least 200 YH credits or 60 university credits; your education could be, for example, social worker or behavioral scientist. You have experience working within LSS (Social Services Act for Support and Service to Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and are confident in social documentation.

It is a plus if you have experience in quality work, for example as a quality officer or support pedagog, or if you have previously worked with supporting and supervising colleagues in their work. We also view positively if you have experience producing pedagogical materials, mappings, or other working methods that contribute to the development of the operation. If you have knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication, low-affective handling, or training in MI (Motivational Interviewing), this is also meritorious.

As a person, you are secure and have a pedagogical approach. You are motivated by understanding what makes people develop and thrive in a role where you get to analyze, try new working methods, and find solutions that make a real difference for the participants.

We offer

We are committed to strengthening quality work and giving support pedagogs a clear and important role in the development of the operation. You work closely with your department manager and become part of a network with other support pedagogs where you share experiences, inspire each other, and develop common working methods.

We are a large operation with engaged employees who want to make a difference for our participants every day. Here you get the opportunity to follow people's development over time and help create a meaningful everyday life where every individual is given the prerequisites to develop based on their own strengths.

Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approx. 11,500 colleagues around the city, you get Sweden's most important job.
