First-line Manager in Care and Elderly Care – Ängsgärdet

Your Responsibilities
Your most important task, as a first-line manager, is to be present for your employees and lead them in their daily work. With your energy and positive attitude, you are a role model for others. You are skilled at involving employees to create engagement with the operations. Driving systematic quality work through, for example, quality groups and follow-up of the operations is an important part of everyday life. In this operational role, you show initiative and act when needed, for example during challenging conversations with relatives or employees. Your success factors are listening and confirming to create security and good communication.
You report to the unit manager who has the overall responsibility for the operations and the economy. You are part of the management group consisting of the unit manager and fellow department managers. We have continuous meetings with a focus on both operational and strategic perspectives. You contribute your competence to business development, strategic planning, and economic issues.
Your Competence
You have the ability to lead employees in change processes, create security in groups, and communicate clearly and trustfully. With a solution-focused approach, you see opportunities even in challenging situations. Your educational background is an academic degree with a relevant focus (e.g., nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, or behavioral scientist). You have experience working in care and elderly care, social work, or another relevant field.
Perhaps you are ready to take the step into your first managerial role, or you already have experience leading and developing employees. It is beneficial if you have knowledge of relevant legislation, as well as experience driving development and change work. It is also an advantage if you are accustomed to working in digital systems and find it easy to get into new IT systems.
Recruitment Process
We have a common recruitment process for all department managers within care and elderly care. This means that we work continuously to recruit the most suitable candidate to our needs for department managers.
The Care and Elderly Care Administration has department managers within four areas of operations: Care and Elderly Care Housing and Short-term Operations, Home Care and Service Houses, Operations for Persons with Disabilities, and Health and Healthcare. The common focus is on development and change management, as well as staffing planning to distribute resources in the best way.
