Senior Social Secretary for Social Support and Provision in Mariestad

Within the Social Services Administration of Mariestad Municipality, there is a continuous improvement process to provide the best possible support for our clients.

In connection with an upcoming parental leave, we are looking for a Senior Social Secretary who wants to lead our case handlers at the Unit for Social Support and Provision. RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as Senior Social Secretary at the Unit for Social Support and Provision, you are located in the Maria Nova premises in central Mariestad.

On this unit, we work for clients within the areas of financial support, AME (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), integration, budget/debt counseling, and projects.

As a Senior Social Secretary, you support method development, distribute cases, lead case reviews and case supervision, and provide guidance on current issues based on current legislation. An important part of the work is also environmental scanning, where you create and revise guidelines and routines based on changes in laws governing public authority, for example, the new Social Services Act.

The position is a parental leave substitute for approx. 1 year starting in autumn 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position of Senior Social Secretary, we are looking for you who:

• Are educated as a social worker or have another equivalent educational background
• Have previous work experience from social services and public authority
• Hold a B driving license

Merits include previous leadership experience and training in methods related to the unit you are interested in working within.

Since the work largely involves supervision and method development, it is required that you have a good ability to both convey information, teach methods, and strengthen employees' competencies. You do this in an inspiring and motivating way.

As a Senior Social Secretary, you will handle acute situations where you are expected to prioritize and delegate based on the laws and regulations governing our operations. We see that you, as an applicant, have a good structure in your work and are flexible and creative to adapt to meetings, situations, and unpredictable days.

The work involves many contacts both internally and externally, so we see that you value good cooperation and are team-oriented.
